That's because the cabal of top users upvote each other and comment on each others memes no matter how crappy they are or if they are stolen. Welcome to Imgflip. It's high school all over again. If you're not in the clique chances are slim you will make the front page. It CAN be done but it's (I've done it twice with memes the commoners upvoted) and I have seen others do it but if you aren't Captain of the football team or the head cheerleader don't expect to get there often no matter how funny or relevant your memes are.

yeah that's kind of true. there's the cool people and the not cool people it doesn't matter if your memes suck or not

but any avgerage person can reach the weekly leaderboard so its not that unfair

That isn't necessarily true. I upvote a lot from the latest section and when I can, I'll leave comments. The problem is many "commoners" don't bother upvoting the comments left and barely submit any memes.

If you don't like the site because of this, I'd say maybe don't bother with it instead of complaining. But I upvoted your comment, because this "football player" isn't petty.

Hi, SpursFanFromAround, I think the intent of this meme was taken the wrong way, I was only trying to encourage those of us "stuck" on the "back pages" to keep putting up those memes, I absolutely love this site, it provides a bucket load of laughs every day.

Me too, I always go to the "Latest" page and scroll all the way down until I see a meme I recognise, so I don't miss any - YES I do have too much time on my hands, but I'm recently retired, so beats working any day!!!!!
