I guess he was so broke he couldn't feed his dog, which is when he sold him because he couldn't care for him. Awesome that he did what he did to get him back!

I'm not discounting what he did. I remember him being flat broke pitching his idea for Rocky. Didn't know he sold his dog and got him back. It is a true American story with the movie itself and the story behind it. Thank for posting this, it's amazing.
