Thanks everyone for up voting this dumb meme. I've been looking at the comments and replies. I didn't know this was going to go as far as it has. Please be kind and thoughtful, I've been known to throw a few elbows and no one wants their statements deleted.

I've seen a lot of funny or die videos on YouTube showing celebrities and trying to motivate people to vote

[image deleted]Oh, I've seen them too. Prodding people to go out and vote I can stand. But when celebrities (I hate to drop names) tell me this person is a womanizer, this one's a crook, I'm leaving the country, yadah, yadah, yadah, well anyway that's why I posted it.

The irony of this meme. You'll listen to one celebrity but not the rest. lol

Ahhh. A disgruntled Hillary fan. If the man was a sports super hero, an exconvict or a crooked career politician, if he made campaign promises to turn this country back into an admirable world power, yes I would listen to them.

promises are just words. Clinton is a crooked politician and Trump is a crooked business man. This country being divided over who's less crooked. Is like wanting what you want in one hand and and a pile of sh*t in the other and see what fills up faster. Except in this case, both hands were filled with sh*t.

[image deleted]I agree. Trump is not the one I wanted in office and only time will tell if his promises come through. I just hate him less than her.

Not being based in reality is what makes them good at what they do.

Art is beauty, but also lies.

I can't think of an example of art lying. If you see it, hear it and you like it or not you're being true to yourself. Following or not following the status quo is also being true to yourself. I see no art involved.

If you count literature and film, every work of fiction is a massive lie (false construct), appreciate it or not, as are legends and myths to a large degree. But artists do hope their lies will benefit others.

Alright. Thinking of it that way you are correct. But do you like something, true or fictitious, because someone tells you that you should?
1 up, 7y
That’s the role of politicians, advertisers, “journalists” and lobbyists. Hard to resist.

Agreed. As adults we have the option of doing our own research and forming our own opinions. Oh, and the one sided media, argh!

If you need a celebrity to vote for, you shouldn't be voting. (as another person said, oh the irony of this meme)
[deleted]
2 ups, 7y
[image deleted]And as I said. If the candidate was a former Army Ranger, a WWF fighter or even a CEO from a big corporation. I would choose that candidate on my own accord, after doing research, listening to what they have to say on the campaign trail and making my own choice. Not by listening to the one sided media or some hipster actor or rapper.

Last I heard, this guy's a celebrity... and he spent over a year telling people who to vote for. Oops, guess that means that no one who listened to him should be voting!

[image deleted]You seem to think that this is a pro Trump meme. It is not. As I said earlier in this thread it's about being influenced when someone tells you who to vote for. Really? Trump as a celebrity? I see him as a business man. I guess he was on a show and appeared on S N.L. But Hillary did too and she was saying, " vote for me." Anyway it's about professional celebrities and the media, both network and social ( both of which I consider a cancer to this country. The media not celebs.) treating us like we're mindless drones and can't even feed ourselves.
0 ups, 7y
True enough and fair enough on the influence thing. But Trump a celebrity.....yes, yes, yes. Author of over a dozen books, has 20 acting and 19 producing credits to his name on IMDB including "The Apprentice" which has run on NBC for 14 seasons with him as the star and executive producer, has legally licensed out his name & image to numerous business ventures.... if that's not celebrity, what is?
