Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was originally from Parkchester in the Bronx. Parkchester is far from hyper-privileged rich. They moved to Yorktown Heights so that she and her siblings could get a better education. Her mother worked as a maid, then also as a school bus driver in addition after her husband passed away from cancer and they had to struggled to pay the bills, including his medical bills.
They were never hyper-privileged rich.

And that's not even getting into what a young person of Puerto Rican background would have gone through after moving to Yorktown Heights. I assure you, it was not pleasant. Been there, done that, literally, and nowhere near as bad as Yorktown Heights would have been.
