This was a slapdash conspiracy whose transparent purpose was to whip up anti-China furor to distract and deflect from the Trump Administration’s own mismanagement of the Covid crisis. However! It is fair to say that the PROC has been less than forthcoming with its Covid data. If the novel coronavirus really did escape from a lab, then the government has every incentive to try to cover it up. Now, I’m not saying that’s what happened. I’m not claiming that even if that is what happened, that it was in any way intentional.
