The technology already exists -it's just a matter of stopping the left v. right political bull---- and getting it done. | There's no denying the utility of petrofuels in terms of versatility, availability and on-demand functionality... ...and when it comes to vehicles, there's no getting around the fact the ratio of EV range to charging time charges sucks even with fast-chargers, high e-density battery production is an extremely toxic process... ...by that same token, the problems we're having with increased temps, warming oceans, extreme weather events are directly correlated to petrofuel consumption's resultant greenhouse gas production and switching over to all-renewables would slow or halt global warming's advance.... ...of course, doing so isn't palatable for the "drill, baby, drill" crowd and continuing down the road we're on is neither palatable to the "no new wells" crowd nor sustainable in terms of the tropics', sub-tropics' and mid-latitudes long-term habitability... ...so what's the middle ground? The petrofuel mass already extracted and consumed didn't disappear; it's still out there in 100+ years worth of by-product forms... ...so if we were to devote a portion of every wind/solar farm's, hydroelectric plant's power to atmospheric mining, thermolytic conversion of greenhouse gases into crude oil and pumping it into existing wells... ...we could establish a sustainable, renewable petroleum industry --which would create jobs... ...it would also strategically de-centralize our fuel production infrastructure & capacity, eliminate the need for new wells, fights over pipelines while establishing long-term energy independence and, in time, return the atmosphere's composition to its pre-industrial make-up... ...which sounds like a bit of a pipe-dream when said out loud... but so would a prediction of our modern, technological world to someone from the era of vacuum tubes and warehouse-sized computers. | image tagged in deep thoughts,global warming,no new wells,sustainability | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
