Cue the leftists who will say: The parties switched!!!! Funny how None of them can name who joined the GOP, and which Grand Recruiter of the KKK stayed in the Democrats. Guess he didn't get the memo to join the GOP.

There was a party switch back in the 50's and 60's but contrary to the leftist history revisionist propaganda it had absolutely nothing to do with race.

This was the early stages of the cold war. When Brezhnev said he "would bury us". People started seeing where the Democrat Party was heading. Ayn Rand, who escaped the Soviet Union, saw it clear as day and wrote books about how America was turning socialist. The Democrats had much more in common with Josef Stalin than Thomas Jefferson. Even today, those who fled Cuba and came here, see that the Democrats wanted the same things as Castro. That's why there is a huge number of Cuban refugees and their descendants who are Republican.

You have to understand that people didn't build bomb shelters because of black people. Schools didn't do air raid drills because of black people.

This idea that the party switch was because of racism is absolute garbage. It's propaganda by the left to hide the racists who stayed in their party. Who decided that instead of lynching blacks they would exploit them and use them for votes.

It's the reason why Reagan became a Republican. My dad became a Republican back then also. That is why the people who left the Democrats became Republicans. And that really hasn't changed. Republicans and right leaning Libertarians who were once Democrats left because they oppose tyranny.

"The so-called “party switch” has been repeated so often it’s treated like a settled fact. But when you set aside the popular retelling and look directly at the historical record, the picture changes. The core philosophies of the two parties have been far more consistent than many realize:

Republicans have generally advanced civil rights, limited government, and individual liberty.
Democrats, even when their language evolved, often defended systems of control — whether those systems were slavery, segregation, or bureaucratic dependence."

Democrats bought into the socialist, communist, fascist, nazi lie so hard back in the early 20th century. They used to openly praise Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin. They never changed their socialism worship, they just dumped fascism and nazism and pushed it to the right because of WWII.

Underneath it all, the left are still just as fascist, nazi, communist and socialist as they have always been.
1 up, 3w
Ironic how the left loves to use the "Big Lie" Made popular by Marx, Hitler, Goebbels. Then they call the right, Nazi's. The Irony.

No. There wasn't. You were lied to. Or you really going to try and spin the KKK Grand Kleagle Recruiter Robert Bird, Mentor to Biden and Hillary, Longest serving Democrat Senator just didn't get the memo to join the GOP. You people make it too easy to bust you up. I swear. 100% of the left believed Jussie Smollett.... 99% STILL DO! 🙄

My comment to him was not to you.

Although overall it's pretty classic in that it's so typical in that if the typical membership labels are not correctly applied, Reich Wingers go off and start ramroding with wrong assumptions even though officially you're on the same side, only they don't know it, so you get to deal with the labeling that those not of the Mark of the Beast typically get.

Guy got you down as a supporter of everything from Byrd to Smollett.

"Even today, those who fled Cuba and came here, see that the Democrats wanted the same things as Castro. That's why there is a huge number of Cuban refugees and their descendants who are Republican."

Nope. Try Bay of Pigs.

JFK - shocker - left them hanging, so for some curious reason Cubans took that as a betrayal and thus had a bad taste in their mouth lingering to this day when it came to Democrats. Add to that that Republicans kept telling them how they were the ones supporting and funding their fast track citizenship plus all the free benefits in rent, schooling, businesses grants, housing purchases, and whatever freebies Cubans were eligible for until Obama ended the program in 2017, so there's that.

Obviously that's where Republicans got the notion that that's what Democrats attempt to do with immigrants because that's exactly what Republicans had been doing with Cubans as well as people from South Korea and the USSR & Iron Curtain countries back in the day, as well as Iran for a time right after the revolution. All they had to do was get here, and in half a decade they were living the middle class life with their own house, business, and college degrees, all for free thanks to the GOP. At least that's how the Republicans sold it to them. Of course this was a government program and not a party one, but still, a con is a con...

As Democrats were the ones who lead the fight against communism abroad and domestically, you need to reread your history again. Sure, Ronnie the Reagan rode the Cold War bronco like that little pony was all his, but he had been doing so since his former Democrat days, so...

So was it you who was setting up the anonymous wire transfers from the Southern Poverty Law Center to the KKK? Just checking. That is such a Democrat thing to do.

Have you talked to any of those Cuban refugees? They don't say anything about JFK or the Bay of Pigs. They compare the Democrat party to Castro and just like the rest of us, they see far too much similarity. Socialists just gotta be socialists. It makes no difference if it is Democrats, Nazis or Cuban communists. They're all the same.

"Add to that that Republicans kept telling them how they were the ones supporting and funding their fast track citizenship plus all the free benefits in rent, schooling, businesses grants, housing purchases, and whatever freebies Cubans were eligible for until Obama ended the program in 2017, so there's that."

I don't know about that. I'm not surprised. There are far too many Republicans that are Democrats who infiltrated the Republican party. BTW did you remember when I told you that I am not a Republican? I'm still not a Republican. Soy miembro de la Constitution Party!

It's the leftists in the Republican party who are the "Reich wingers", along with all of the Democrats.

"As Democrats were the ones who lead the fight against communism abroad and domestically"

Now you're just trying to poke the bear aren't you. Or as I have said before and you seem to love it so much when I say, "you're just messing with me".

If you're being serious, then you're the only one on the entire planet who thinks this.

The Progressives of the early 20th century, as you very well know, were pro-communist, pro-Nazi. pro-fascist and pro-socialist. It is extremely well documented and is just a known fact.

Looks like you're going to have to find someone else to find out from whom you were receiving it from.

I assure you, you have never known any Cubans, let alone any that would open up to to you on such matters, nor have you ever met or even encountered one. In your life. You moved to Utah to get away for those people, remember?

It's funny how you appoint yourself a spokesman for every group of people there is.. except for your own kind. That's where you suddenly draw a blank. On your own heritage.

"I assure you, you have never known any Cuban"

Have you ever met any?

"Utah to get away for those people, remember?"
Yes, when I was 1 year old I spoke in fluent English and told my parents that we must move to Utah.

I know this is going to be a real shock to you but Utah is not all white. Because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is an international church some of the members have come from all over the world and moved here.

Plus there were American Indians here before the LDS ever showed up and they're still around.

"It's funny how you appoint yourself a spokesman for every group of people there is"
I told you I am not a Democrat. That's what Democrats do. I am not a spokesman for anyone but myself.

Well my ancestry is mostly Scottish and I have picked up a few words in Scots, not Gaelic, Scots. There are 3 languages spoken in Scotland. English, Scots and Gaelic. Some say Scots is just a dialect of English but there are far too many words that English speakers just do not understand. So if you can say it's a brau bricht moonlicht nicht tha nicht, yer a' right. Ye ken.

I do not speak for or claim to represent the Scots. I wasn't born there. You have to go back several generations before you find a Scottish ancestor. I am 100% American. I am a native American. I don't speak for the Southern states because I only lived one year of my life there. I don't speak for California because I haven't lived there in 26 years. I don't speak for Utah because this is not where I grew up. Other places I have lived, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Missouri. I don't speak for those states either.

I'm just me. When it comes down to it, themselves is all anyone can speak for.

Have I ever met any Cubans? Of course not, I only live in the Bronx, NY, NY.
That's called sarcasm, by the way.

We're only second to Miami in Cuban population.

It amazes how you foreigners are so fascinated with coming to visit New York City, and would move here if you could, yet you're oblivious to the fact that New York City is full of other foreigners who are likewise fascinated with New York City and have moved here. Literally 1/3 of us have parents that were born abroad, 1/3 have grandparents that were born abroad, and 1/3 of us were actually born here. It's one of the giveaways that you're not from the US when you don't at least know that one of the nicknames of New York City is the Melting Pot of the United States of America. But yet you've lived in half of the states.
Good grief.

The Mormon Church excluded black people till 1972 was it?
Hold on, let me check.
Oh, there we go, until 1978.

Mormons performed quite a few massacres of Utes, the people their state is named after.

But these weren't the only ones, they were the attacks on Missouri settlers, and, of course, their crowning glory of an achievement, the massacre of those Arkansas settlers traveling through Utah. Probably a state holiday over there.

What a lovely bunch.

There is no such thing as a Scott that ever said the Scottish language is an English dialect. Everybody on the planet knows that it's a Gaelic language, Scotts themselves being a Celtic people.
0 ups, 3w
Because you've never been outside of NYC, you have this opinion that NYC is either the only or the most multicultural, multiracial area in the US. You really need to get out more.

"The Mormon Church excluded black people till 1972 was it?"

First off, no, that is not true. Blacks were not allowed to hold the priesthood but they were never excluded from the Church. As it turns out it was all the fault of Brigham Young. Before him, Joseph Smith had no problem ordaining blacks to the priesthood. Joseph Smith didn't have a lot of money but he paid the cost of a slave just to free a man and his family.

When the Church got tired having their members murdered they decided to leave the United States. Utah was part of Mexico at that time. A year after they got to Utah the United States annexed much of the west, including Utah.

There were problems with some of the indigenous tribes in Utah but the reason why they settled in what is now Salt Lake City was because it was between two tribes and they wanted to make peace by not encroaching on their land. There was no massacre of Indians by the LDS Church.

The Utes were not the only tribe out here. There were a bunch of them. There was problems but it was not the LDS attacking the Indians.

I use the term "Indian" because I just found out recently that "Native American" was invented by white liberals. The Indians, for the most part, prefer the term, "Indian".. Native American means an indigenous person from anywhere in the Americas, whereas, "Indian" means they are from the United States. Yes, I am fully aware that they were originally called Indians because Columbus thought he landed in India. And Columbus never landed on land that became the United States. This is just what I am hearing from Indians and I will call you what ever you want to be called.

There were a small group of LDS people who got word that Missourians were on their way to Utah. They were not acting under any authority of the Church. But you need to understand that the LDS Church was driven out of Missouri when in 1838, the governor signed an extermination order against the Church. The Church were abolitionists and Missouri was a slave state. They wanted to drive the Church out of the state by any means possible, including death.

This group of LDS people who did the massacre received the death penalty for their involvement.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. It was the 50's, not the 60's. Utah is NOT the whitest state in the Union, its the most LDS state in the Union. And 5 years later we moved to California, the most brownest state in the Union. But it is only brown if you think that all Mexicans are brown, which they are not.

You've repeatedly said it was the 1960s. When it was overtaken by Communism, which, as we know, was code for the civil rights movement and desegregation in the South.

Correct, 6 decades later Utah is no longer the whitest state in the Union, last I heard it was Idaho.

No, I'm not the one that assumed that, you are. In fact you accused me and my Puerto Rican mother of being members of the KKK. Because she was a registered Democrat.

I'm not sure how many times we've had this conversation?

But hey, if you can find anywhere where I accused you of being a member of the KKK, go ahead and post it.

I'll wait

"No, I'm not the one that assumed that, you are. In fact you accused me and my Puerto Rican mother of being members of the KKK. Because she was a registered Democrat."

WHAT?!?!?!?!? Why are you saying that????? I never said you or your mother were members of the KKK.

I know exactly how many times we had that conversation. ZERO TIMES.

Okay so I don't recall you directly accusing me of being a member of the KKK but you definitely have heavily insinuated that I am a racist and that I am pro slavery because of my ancestors. You're probably one of those who think that everyone in the South are racists.

Second oldest country in the world, civilization when Europe wasn't even discovered yet. Last year evidence of what may be the oldest writing in the world - even predating that of Mesopotamia - was identified. Iran has more archaeological sites than any other place on the planet.

Iran is Aran, Land of the Aryans, the people Europeans worship, creators of the one God, Satan, Heaven, Hell, spirit soul, Paradise, the Apocalypse....

Of course, as far as history is concerned, your people did not even exist yet. Well they did actually, Aryans domesticated them when they spread westward and introduced livestock to those delightful cavemen of Europe. The language you now speak was derived from theirs.

The founding of the Iranian Empire was 2600 years ago.

The he United States almost made it to 250 before coming to an end last year.

They will continue to be long after we've faded into the dust.
