President Trump more than any other President has shown the world that our media and congress are corrupt, powerful people run things behind the scenes and they all hate him for doing it.

According to history the most oppressive regime in history would be the British Empire. The number of people whose deaths they caused is incalculable, including half of Iran during the famine of 1917 - 19. 8 -10 million people dead in the biggest holocaust of the 20th Century while the Brits carted their food away for themselves.

Actually Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, like his father, Reza Shah, were fighting communists, as that is the reason why they were installed by the US and UK in the first place. They were puppets whose purpose was to provide a bulwark against the spread of socialism and to help contain the USSR in not just influence but also territorial expansion into the area and beyond.

The Pahlavis sought to secularize and modernize Iran, suppressing Islam. This involved the usual round ups and torture and executions. If you actually knew any Iranians back then, you would have known of relatives of theirs who disappeared on the way home from university never to be seen again. This happened to thousands of students and others merely suspected of being communist or any other potential dissident.

The Shah wasn't fighting Islamic extremism, he was (albeit unintentionally) creating it. As was the US and UK - deliberately as a tool against the spread of socialism and Nasserism.
