The left misusing the Bible is not the shocker, their thinking anyone would be fooled by it is the shocker.
5 ups, 2d
They believe in myth of equality.
3 ups, 2d
Pretty much how they like to rewrite the Bible as their own thing filled with woke bullshit

Wtf are you talking about? We don't base our politics off of it. We just point out when you're not following your own rules.

That's like an adult actor preaching to teenagers about sexual purity.
It makes no sense that someone who made their own conclusion that Jesus and the Bible aren't real but they're willing to quote scripture in order to correct others.

I can comment on the morality of Spider-Man characters without actually believing they exist.

Lol.

I can even try to be a better person based on the teachings of Uncle Ben and Aunt May without trying to convince people that they are "real" or "historical".

And yet, some folks ended dressing as one for cosplay. Imagine how awkward it is when someone said Jesus isn't real while wearing a costume of their favorite superhero (or some anime character).
Would you have the guts to point out the hypocrisy?
0 ups, 9h
The Bible is a real religious text: that does not make it a good historical document.

And you believe that?

He never said that.

Better repeat that same line to any immature atheists who would love to waste someone's time debating.
1 up, 3d
Well, I think the atheists already know that.

But you'll believe in Ghengis Khan 🥱

As my personal savior? certainly not! His actual existence, though, is better attested than Jesus', and so is his DNA.

Jesus has many times the documents of ghengis

More people have written about him, perhaps, but there are zero primary sources. When we do history, we use the rules of history, not "what I believe in my heart" or "what I heard in Sunday school". History is not faith-based.

So whats the difference in proving Ghengis and Jesus? We can at least agree Jesus existed
1 up, 9h
I think it's _likely_ that Jesus existed; we have primary source evidence that Genghis Khan existed. This is a distinction of historical fact that is important to master for basic social science literacy.

The difference is no one has to prove Genghis Khan existed.

Thats what I'm asking
If 10 documents prove Gengis Khans existence, how do 20,000 documents NOT prove Jesus's existence
1 up, 9h,

So, do the Homeric Hymns prove Heracles' existence?
0 ups, 9h
the who huh
1 up, 11h
What 10 documents? Genghis Khan is a historical figure known from Asia to Europe.

There are no 20,000 documents proving Jesus's existence. There's not even one.
You should stop making stuff up, God don't like it.

Not contemporary.

A story written a century later saying once upon a time, there was a guy who walked on water is not a document, it's a story,,,

Well historical finds keep proving jesus

No, they do not. There is not a single smidgen of evidence that Jesus ever existed.

According to the book you claim to believe in but it never read, fabrication and bearing false witnesses are punishable top 10 sins. Top 10 sins. Top 10 sins. Hell awaits.

You you are not a believer. You are a pretender. You are the reason why critics have problems with your so-called faith.

Nobody would care if it wasn't for the pretenders constantly trying to lecture everybody else what it is obvious that they do not believe themselves, and telling other people to live in a fashion that they do not even attempt to leave themselves.

To be fair, everything that Flick says suggests strongly that they were raised on a diet of strong koolaid and have not yet developed critical thinking skills as a result.
0 ups, 7h
Hence why conservatism and religious zealotery always come paired, because they're all about maintaining the faith which eliminates having to expend energy on critical thinking and other activities that strain ye olde noggin,,,

Dude, even devout atheists cannot doubt the existence of Jesus 😂 what are you even saying
Thousands of matching historical documents should be more than enough for you
Not a single historical find has ever disproved the bible
We found many that proved it, however. Imagine how those archeologists felt when they found a Bone Box with the inscription "James, son of Joseph, brother of Jesus"
1 up, 11h,

There's no such thing as a devout atheist.
And again, there is no proof of the existence of Jesus.

The authenticity of the inscription on the James Ossuary is still up in the air, as is who it is referring to. Those names were not exactly particularly rare back then.

The origin of this item that came out of nowhere is also bit suspicious, the owner claiming he bought it and just tucked it away for several years not realizing what the inscription said.

He has also been accused forging the inscription, even convicted for it, although said conviction was thrown out as it was not proven that he had forged it.

Geez bro if you were more humble/honest atheist you'd at least believe in the most historically proven man in history
Instead of rejecting him just because he exposes you
1 up, 9h
Harry Truman is historically proven; Julius Caesar is historically proven; Vladimir Lenin is historically proven. Jesus and Confucius aren't.
1 up, 10h
Bearing false witness is a sin.

Bearing false witnesses a sin.

Belief is irrelevant. If Jesus is real, he does not require any belief. That is why you are, unironically, a nonbeliever. You believe that his existence depends on your so-called faith.

Nobody believes that Genghis Khan existed. It's a fact. Nobody believes that George Washington existed. It's a fact. Nobody believes that John F Kennedy existed. It's a fact.

My child, hundreds of historical finds have disproved biblical assertions, starting with the very important creation ex nihilo some 6-7,000 years ago.

The line in the Bible you should study is 1st Corinthians 13:11. The time for trying to be good because Santa is watching is over.
