In the year before that the first television was introduced at the World's Fair. So TV's existed when the stock market crashed by TV stations didn't exist unless a few decades later. Also FDR was the governor of New York when the stock market crashed. Why would the country take comfort in watching the governor of New York on their mostly non-existent TV's received broadcast signals from non-existence TV stations.

And who can forget when Biden felt it was important to tell the world that kids used to love to rub his legs in the swimming pool. That was the same time he introduced "Corn pop" as a "bad dude" who used to rub his razor blade on the sidewalk.

You never heard of FDR's fireside chats? Sure, they were on radio, but when the subject comes up, we're shown an image of FDR at his desk talking. Anyone who doesn't understand the only reason why Jimmy Kimmel was cancelled doesn't understand how broadcast TV business works. Stephen Colbert already had low ratings and his show's rating were the highest among late night TV talk shows. If Jimmy Kimmel had high ratings, it would've brought in a lot of ad sponsorship revenue. Consider the opposite example, when Jay Leno retired from the Tonight Show, his ratings were very high compared to today's and they brought Jay Leno back for a couple more years to keep the revenue stream.

He lost 64% of his audience from the night he returned to the following night. He won't be around long.
