Literally everything on that list has been rad complete with an outcast fandom targeted by the jocko crowd since inception. That's why all the nerd kids they got picked on in high school were the ones that happened to be into all that stuff.
Not getting into it causality/correlation trip here, it's just that that's what they were into and that's what was into them.
In fact, it was often the reverse of what you said, if anything. I was there. I was the only Devo fan in my school since that Newsweek particle and SNL appearance in1979. Till Whip It came out. Then suddenly everybody was a fan. We saw this with New Wave when other people got into it (after those groups sold out, like Devo did).
We saw Hardcore Punk Thrash and Slam Dancing as well (I was never into slamming though) get stolen first by the Metal crowd, and then by suburban upper crust Preps and Jocks. Although I can't really say they ruined it, because Punk was already dead by 1985 anyways. So they were just fiddling with a rotten corpse. But still they did steal it from us.
Not that Punk was strictly some sort of Leftist Liberal whatev, but whatever the fauxdeology, Punks were, by nature, ultra-radical, and deliberately so. There was even the Oi & Nazi Skin & Punk offshoots, but that was on account of Far Right intruders trying to utilize them as proxies.
Goth even had males layered in makeup and finery fitting of a Victorian Era Queen since Goth became Goth. So I don't know where your angle came from on that. What next, New Romantics? Pastel Goths? Cyber Goths? Emos?
I mean, sure, the Columbine crew turned out to be Far Reich, but they were an exception, and face it, the music they were listening to wasn't Goth anyways. They were just playing dress up because it looked scary in a state where simply dressing in black will part crowds like Moses blasting a howitzer.
Cosplay had rainbow colored hair since Cosplay was birthed. That's what Cosplay is. It was never members of the high school Young Republicans KKKlub dressed in pinstripes.
There's a reason why the fandom of all these things are oft referred to as the nerddom or geekdom. It ain't because they were preppies incognito back in the day.
