Well welcome to 2025, Stock Market doing so poorly, that Trump blamed it on Biden and called it his. Till Thusdays when they started going back up. Now Trump is calling it his again like he did last year even before the election. The USD is weakening. GDP is down for the first time since Bush's recession. Prices on goods not only haven't gone down, Trump has deliberately raised them even further with tariffs.

Who effen cares about the stock market. Its all imaginary dollars anyway, it's a measure of rich people's faith in the businesses. It's the worst indicator of how actual working americans are doing.
Only FOREIGN goods are affected by tariffs. Those products are only cheap because countries can pay thier workers slave wages with virtually no enviromental or labor regulations. Ironically, the same people have been complaining about the "actual cost" of cheap products are suddenly outraged that someone's doing something to counteract it, just because they don't like who that person is. If any liberal politician were suggesting an import tax on products that might be unethically produced, most liberals would laud it as both a way of counteracting unethical foreign business practices as well as a brilliant way of raising government revenue.
And I buy my groceries, and those are getting cheaper, and while I can no longer get cheap stationery on temu (yes, I'm part of the problem) I like being able to afford eggs and meat again. I think it's a fair trade off.
And we might even bring some jobs back to the U.S. if that $4 a day wage is less/un-profitable due to tariffs. But that would take time.

Who cares? The guy who claimed the stock market was his even BEORE the election, then claimed this week after 100 days in office that it was still Biden's, then quite literally actually literally said that it was his the day after when the markets started rallying again. Literally. That's who.

My Double Dutch Chocolate Turkey Hill at the grocery store, still $8, Italian bread, still $3.89, Lindzer Tarts, $7.99..... I don't buy eggs, and that store has not resumed giving away a free dozen for purchases of $75 and up, but my Pizza Rustica that I bought there on Good Friday cost $45 for the pie, and the high price of eggs was part of the reason why.

Breyers regular whole milk ice cream tastes like low-fat frozen yogurt. And I'm not the only one to have noticed this. You know how much a milkshake is from Mister Softee? $7.00. That's right, $7.00. Over $5 for small latte coffee, not at Starbucks, but at Dunkin' Donuts, or Dunkin' as they go by now. $2.50 for small cup of regular coffee at the deli. Not 50¢, $2.50.

Around here, of course, prices haven' plummeted like Trump promised on day one the way they did where you live.

Now, I'm in California, not the bronx, so it's possible that local circumstances (not the economy as a whole) are affecting your prices. It also could be that name brand luxury foods have a more devoted clientele and are less susceptible to market changes.
