It would be fascinating for sure, but highly unlikely since the people are effectively disarmed. The only ones who have guns are the cartels, the military, and the police. And too often, those three are controlled by the same evil people.

That's the thing about weapons; it's EASY to appease authoritarians by being willing to give up your arms, but you then need arms to regain your lost freedoms.
