Actually you can determine that by DNA tests. Some of your DNA will come back Polish, some Jewish (which is an ethnicity as well as a religion) and some Chinese.

Jewish, or, in German, Juden, is derived from Judean. Judeans, or Yehudi - the people of Judea, or Yehuda - existed thousands of years before the Germans came into being.

Go read some more, and maybe guess again. The whole book of Esther is about an attempt to annihilate the jews.

The whole book of the Torah is about the Jews, or more specifically, the Hebrews, or Hebron.
