The city wasn't burned down. Perhaps you're uninformed or ignorant. Minneapolis was just ranked 94 out of the 150 best places to live in the United States, according to U.S. News and World Report's latest ranking from May, 2024

However 19 deaths and 140 injuries to innocent people during riots appears acceptable. Police Chief James Craig in Detroit prevented the rioters. So it could have been done. Many cities including Minneapolis allowed and encouraged rioters and looters.
