So these 'good guys' aka former students are good guys because they did something stupid and want to get bailed out by taxpayers for having done so?
The exact same logic applies to credit card balances. I would say I can't wait for Uncle Moneybags Biden to make my credit card debt go away, but I don't have any. Why? Because I'm not stupid enough to sign my name to a bad deal, as those who took student loans did.
Obviously their word and their signature means nothing.
What about those poor fools who worked their way thru college (maybe working 20 to 40 hrs while taking classes, or had to extend the 4 years to 5 or more) for the expressed purpose of NOT having student loan debt?
Do they get a rebate?
What about those poor fools who saved their entire lives so they could send their kids to college, without saddling them with student loan debt?
Do they get a rebate?
What about the person who chose a career in the trades, and never went to college? Why does their tax dollars have to go to bailing out people who made a bad deal? Why should tghey pay for some rich kids to get Art History degrees? And then paying for their unemployment (maybe) when there are no jobs available doing Art History?
Do they get a rebate?
What you fail to relaize is that making the student loans "free" at the expense of taxpayers who have no obligation to pay them off but are being forced to do so, is doing nothing more than dividing us.
The president who promised (well, lied) about uniting us has done nothing but dumb-A moves like this, that only divide us.
