And were informed of all terms and conditions when they took out their loans in order to play and party for four years at college. We should NOT pay for the fiscal foolishness of others.

Here comes the victim card... Mommy and daddy are to blame... they gave me bad advice... and if that doesn't work, it'll be, not my fault mommy and daddy brought me into this world... I'm entitled...

Apparently the newest slaker leftist maneuver is -- bizarrely -- to blame Boomers for their college loans foolishness. Apparently Boomers pointed a gun at their heads and MADE them take out insanely stupid college loans.

Notice they're not blaming guidance counselors... or teachers... or their media...
but true to nature... they have no responsibility whatsoever... again...

That is practically the definition of leftists.

Never being responsible for anything is who and what they are.

You didn’t even read the meme loan SERVICERS alter terms and payment methodology to maximize the interest lifespan of the loan NOT to pay it off efficiently as Sallie Mae/navient/aidvantage/whatever they rename themselves in 2 years after they get caught doing it again.

So these 'good guys' aka former students are good guys because they did something stupid and want to get bailed out by taxpayers for having done so?

The exact same logic applies to credit card balances. I would say I can't wait for Uncle Moneybags Biden to make my credit card debt go away, but I don't have any. Why? Because I'm not stupid enough to sign my name to a bad deal, as those who took student loans did.

Obviously their word and their signature means nothing.

What about those poor fools who worked their way thru college (maybe working 20 to 40 hrs while taking classes, or had to extend the 4 years to 5 or more) for the expressed purpose of NOT having student loan debt?

Do they get a rebate?

What about those poor fools who saved their entire lives so they could send their kids to college, without saddling them with student loan debt?

Do they get a rebate?

What about the person who chose a career in the trades, and never went to college? Why does their tax dollars have to go to bailing out people who made a bad deal? Why should tghey pay for some rich kids to get Art History degrees? And then paying for their unemployment (maybe) when there are no jobs available doing Art History?

Do they get a rebate?

What you fail to relaize is that making the student loans "free" at the expense of taxpayers who have no obligation to pay them off but are being forced to do so, is doing nothing more than dividing us.

The president who promised (well, lied) about uniting us has done nothing but dumb-A moves like this, that only divide us.

No sympathy for stupid behavior. Should have never agreed to take the loan in the first place.

Read the meme.
Servicers alter the terms and repayment methods illegally all the time.

It’s why Sallie Mae/navient/aidvantage changed there name so many times to rebrand after being caught.

My debt isn’t being discharged it just had the payment lowered to compensate all the money I’ve already payed into it and I still have to pay back the taxpayers in full in the same time frame.

Literally the only group who this is a problem for is loan servicers and which is Sallie Mae…who made it everyone’s problem to begin with.

So f**k em.

Yeah, but people need to stop getting student loans for crappy education. You have plenty on YouTube videos, wiki, and other knowledge articles that you don't need to go to college for education. You also have very short and affordable trade schools and certifications are cheap. No need to get on a 4-8 years college loan you will have to pay the rest of your life.

Learning how to do truss calculations and differential equations isn’t the scam here.
In fact for certain jobs like engineering they are vital skills.

Because once again and I need you to follow me on this.

Loan servicers break the terms…because a student loan isn’t like a car loan you can’t really shop around for a better rate and sue the dealer if he tries to apply your payment to interest that hadn’t even accrued yet.

While loan servicers can and do despite it being against their terms. And unlike credit card debt you have almost zero say in how those balances get paid off.
Like with credit card debt you focus on the smallest balance and if it ties the one with highest interest first then take the minimum you used for that card and apply it to the next one after it’s paid off.

With loan servicers you don’t get a choice unless you pay more then the minimum even if they are not applying things properly to the loans. But when those minimums are something insane like 600-800 people don’t have extra cash for the student loans.

Now thanks to Joe my minimum is under control and while my balance is the same I can take that extra money and apply it to the loans like credit card debt and ACTUALLY pay it off.

Tldnr. I will stick teaching kids not borrowing loans they can't pay for, and getting stupid degrees that will do them no good for anyone.

Unironically my grandmother does still have student loans but that’s cause she was a witness and a single mother of 3 because her husband left her.

Thanks to Biden her payment is now 0. So at least that’s something.
