Why libs shouldn't have access to taxpayers' dollars | California spent $11 billion over 9 years; to get this 1,600 feet of high-

100% of liberal energy is spent trying to get more taxes for the government

0% is devoted to how its being spent, why its being spent, if it needs to be spent or whether the government actually already has enough and its just flushing it down the toilet, which makes it look like there's not enough

High-Speed Rail has a long history of failure. Why are some people so in love with it?

Graeystone's correct.

But in addition, in blue cities and states, ANYTHING can be used to feed the tax & spend monster. Extra points if it's something central to lib dogma, such as getting people out of their cars and into mass transit.

As it turns out, high-speed rail projects allows a lib jurisdiction to level up from wasting millions to wasting billions, or (in California) even hundreds of billions. Those kinds of projects are large, complex, and so long and involved that there's no possibility of public awareness about what's going on. Add a compliant MSM, which will NEVER inform the taxpayers how they're being ripped off, and monstrosities like this is the inevitable result.

Keep in mind that was $11 BILLION for a single glorified bridge. California democrats aren't about to declare a wasted-money victory and stop there. Their high-speed rail fantasies will continue - at what, $10-$30 billion per mile?! - until the state's and the nation's financial systems have so thoroughly crashed and burned that it's absolutely impossible to continue.

Then California's high-speed rail network will finally end up what it's always been: from nowhere to nowhere. And just as you first said: a failed project, like in so many other places.

Probably Japan's rail system. People see it and think they need it to. What they fail to realize is that Japan's rail system is done out of necessity. Japan is not that large even if it was one large land mass there's still the matter of being an island with limited resources. Which would be better - everyone with a car but limited oil/gas supply or high speed trains that can do the job.

There should be a constitutional amendment that restricts any politician who has been influenced partially or wholly by socialism, communism, Nazism, fascism or any other form of Marxism from being allowed to make spending decisions for the government. In fact they should not be allowed to hold office.

Agreed, but that's probably not possible in a jurisdiction where committed libs will vote committed, insane libs into public office for their entire lifetimes, no matter how bad things get.

And if a state is circling the drain and about to totally collapse, the libs who can escape that collapse will escape to other jurisdictions and continue to vote democrat.

There should be a balanced budget amendment to the Consitution, but the US is so far in debt not sure that would even be possible. Biden is taking our debt to the stratosphere with the help of Congressmen from both Parties.

It will never be possible as long as Government keeps spending OUR money like drunken sailors.

Politicians and their families should also be prevented from bidding on government projects. Kind of like how employees of any radio station aren't allowed to participate in prize giveaways.
