Don’t forget, this is also because “assault rifle” is a made up term. Most rifles described by the word aren’t designed for “assaulting” either. The AR-15, the most popular target for anti gun lobbyists, was specifically designed for the civilian market. It was later modified and sent to the military in its “assault-y” configuration, I.e. a selective fire switch. It is not legal for regular civilians to get their hands on real “assault” rifles.

The real issue isn't the percentage or rate at which illegals commit crimes, particularly murders, relative to citizens. The issue is simple and can be summed up with one word: ZERO

Any number of crimes or murders (as in >= 1) committed by illegal immigrants is too many.

Why is that? (this is the "duh" part so libs can comprehend...) Because if they weren't here, as they shouldn't be, the number of crimes / murders they commit would be zero, which is what it should be.

Every death was administered by a person.

Each of those people were motivated to murder other human beings.

Does it really matter how they ended their lives?

Everyone, I think, will agree that one death is one death too many.

If you share this thinking, the thinking should apply to everything.

Weapons of any kind, including sticks and stones.

Illness and disease.

Lousy pharmaceuticals.

Automobiles.

Explosive devices.

Narcotics.

Bare hands.

To not hold all of these means of malicious murder in equal contempt is to engage in hypocrisy and/or denial of the truth:

No obstacle will stop a highly motivated individual intent on doing harm from planning and acting on their desire.

What is always said after a murder?

He is crazy! He is unstable! He is a mental case! He is not right in the head!

And you would be correct.

Should a mountain lion attack you and you had no gun, what would you do to kill the mountain lion?

That is the same thing a murderer would do.

Illegal immigrants should not be allowed entry.

Like the boy's parents that were recently convicted of manslaughter, after their son murdered people at a school without their knowledge, those that permitted the illegal immigrant entry are likewise culpable for whatever crimes that individual commits.

"contributed to"

Aside from not sourcing the numbers you casually toss around, which is standard for you, nothing screams 'this crap is made up' like using vague words like that. I know, it's not really you fault and I don't blame you, because I will speculate that you did a copy and paste job. So the original author has to take some of the responsibility.

It doesn't matter though, because this isn't a gun issue Stanley, it's a people issue.

I've been handling firearms since I was about 7 or 8, and I'm not in any of those so-called statistics that you presented. If this was a gun problem, and based on how often I have handled firearms, then those statistics would dictate that I, or one of my children would be included.

The reason we're not is because before I was ever allowed to come anywhere near a firearm, I was schooled, extensively, on firearm safety.

Just one good example for you; if it had been me or anyone else trained to correctly / safely handle firearms instead of Alec Baldwin, Halyna Hutchins would still be alive.

"based on how often I have handled firearms, then those statistics would dictate that I, or one of my children would be included."

I've never heard anyone come right out and admit they don't understand statistics like that before.

You do realize that the OP was talking about 2024, right?
3 ups, 9mo
Nope, he does not.
3 ups, 9mo
Realizes but ignores the OPs premise is that illegal immigrants have murdered more people than "assault" rifles.

😄 facts don't matter.

They always ignore the increase in gun suicides in their "scare" stats.
2 ups, 9mo,
1 reply
Absolutely they do.

And I would imagine they're trying to do the same thing (probably are doing it) with "gun" statistics that they did with covid. If there's a gun anywhere in the house when someone dies, they'll want to call it a "gun related" death, or some such crap.

Or like Stanley did in his post, something like "firearms contributed to the deaths" blah blah blah.

Same old same old with leftists who want the govt to be the only ones with guns.

What is that Stanley, your version of sourcing your claim? My goodness, what can you get right?

I'm not sure why you're conflating a Constitutionally guaranteed right exercised by law abiding citizens, with local law enforcement standing around for over 70 minutes doing NOTHING while a psychopath killed children. I guess that's liberal logic on display.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. That is what you asked for, is it not, his source?
0 ups, 8mo
Well yes, but not really. I was expecting a source that would prove his point. Not a link to an article that does nothing but say the same unproven crap that he said.

But you guys aren't really into proving anything, especially when Trump is involved and the entire Democrat brand is built on lies about him.

For instance, Cassidy Hutchinson lied about Trump assaulting his driver on Jan 6. That was an obvious lie to anyone with two brain cells to rub together. First of all, she described it as someone telling her. In leagl terms modda, that's hearsay. How reliable is that? The answer is NOT reliable.

But the Dem-controlled media ran with it as fact. Demotards all over the country believed it to be true, because... well, orange man bad, and they wanted it to be true.

Now that the driver has rebuked her hearsay, will the media cover it with even 1% of the zeal with which they went after Trump?

Of course not. They lie, period.

More importantly OP was talking about a specific type of firearm because murders by illegals would seem trivial compared to the 5000+ Americans killed with guns in the first 68 days of the year.
0 ups, 9mo
Oh, right. Assault rifles don’t exist. Technicalities are fun.

Well of course an imaginative gun would have a lower mortality than a real world statistic that is grossly under-documented.
0 ups, 9mo
The statistics for the entire year of 2024 are not quite available just quite yet apparently due to the time restraintS thST come with it being only a mere two months old.

That’s not how statistics work. You’d be hard pressed to find the numbers for gun-related deaths and illegal alien-related deaths which have yet to be released and probably won’t be until well into the next year.

Otherwise you’re dealing with incomplete numbers, or worse, an estimate. And if 2020 should’ve taught anyone anything about mortality rates and how those projections can change when, you know, an unprecedented event happens… such as Covid… or in this case the border crisis, projections can be misleading when that kind of thing isn’t factored in.

However, utilizing complete data and basing it on past data is far more reliable than current projections. Because hard data will always be more reliable than an estimate.

But we can bicker and argue all about data till the cows come home. You show me some numbers and where they come from, then maybe I’ll give a damn either way.

It is related.

By all means, provide the relevant statistics of immigration-related homicides and gun-related deaths of THIS year.

All 11 weeks of it.

Go on. Go on.

Unless you can’t, which if you can’t then referencing previous years statistics is not only relevant but acceptable.

In short, I’ll take statistics at least 2-3 years old over made up statistics.

I’ve yet to be proven such when it comes to presidential elections.

I think you’ll actually enjoy Biden’s second term.

Maga is much better at complaining, than it is at justifying obviously bad policy made by the people they pitifully call leaders.
