These aren't really "leftists" (generally) - who've seen/saw McCarthyism in action, and naturally reject this kind of bull$hit... These are DNCIA Democrats, who're the NeoLiberal half, of the NeoCon Uniparty in DC and London and Brussels, etc.. They're Globalist Imperialists. Sometimes they ape the language of the left, other times they'll ape the language of the right. The only thing they really care about is control and power in this world. If Russia is an hour obstacle to their plans, then they target them - whether Orthodox Christian, Muslim, or protestant. If Iran, Syria or Palestine (or Venezuela or North Korea) are a bump in the road to their goals (Global Monopolar Hegemonic Empire, and Technocratic Totalitarianism - for all) then their goal is to flatten them - religions or sects or indigenous political trends, be damned.

Any Politician who isn't 100% on board with their Cheney-esque Endless Wars for Empire, and who speaks up, even in the smallest ways for peace, and just International Relations...Will be targeted. Trump spoke out (quite sensibly) against going to war against Russia...even for improving our relationships with them (which Obama and $hillary and Nuland had deliberately sabotaged from 2008 onwards - following the plans adopted during the Cheney/W. Regime, things like the Orange Revolution in Ukraine, and the one in Georgia, eventually ending in a declaration that they should both join NATO), while he was campaigning in 2015/2016... THAT was what began the active Bipartisan Campaign against him. $hillary and her people were HANDED the Steele Dossier contacts - from the RNC.

I'm a leftist. Jimmy Dore is a leftist, I suppose that Glenn Greewald and Matt Taibbi and Michael Tracy could be described that way, too... We're all certainly to the ACTUAL left of Rachel Maddcow and the rest of the MOCKINGBIRDs at MSDNCIA. None of us fell for this Neo-McCarthyite BS. I don't think any of us qualify as Trump supporters, per se...but our differences with him are legitimate and rooted in real political questions - not about some made-up nonsense about him being Russia's "Manchurian Candidate". So our disagreements aren't this kind of TDS related crap.

Notice what happened when Trump tried to improve relations with North Korea... The Beltway didn't know what to do about that... Except to declare that they were against it, immediately. And then, they just sat back while Pompeo and Bolton queered the deal - sabotaging it in ways both big & small.

Leftist and leftism is a good and solid and generally applicable label for this movement inside the western world to destroy its established cultures and laws in favor of something else. Traditional liberals did nothing -- absolutely nothing -- to fight back or stop the leftist movement from trashing western culture and laws in general and -- the only part I really care about -- the United States specifically.

Let me put it this way, the resistance movement to the Right of Center inside the United States is being driven by conservatives. These people DID stand up and fight back and often have paid the price for that under the nation's current leftist controlled two-tier justice system. Standing against the relatively tiny minority of conservatives is the weight of tradition of posers known as Republicans; but generally acknowledged to be some self-centered and amoral variation of RINO.

The submicroscopic numbers of traditional liberals doing the same thing as conservatives compares as a pond of water to one of the great lakes. So I intend to continue using the designation of leftist even though I also know that the game their various leaderships and operatives are playing goes much deeper than that.

I think that's a tactical and strategic mistake...and a recipe for the same kind of protracted stalemate of
a low-intensity Civil Warfare, that's been going on since at least 1913, and perhaps back to the 1860's.

What we call "liberals" are the folks who stepped-in to prevent an inevitable revolution, in the 1930's - after the laissez-faire, predatory crapitalism of the Robber Barons, and the Federal Reserve and the Trusts, had bankrupted the nation. The CIO were pretty radical. Not like the Wobblies, but radical enough. That's why the Democrats pushed the AFL onto them, to divide the workers, and then co-opt them with a small slice off of the loaf that the bosses and Billionaires were taking home for themselves.

This culture war nonsense isn't automatically left, either. What's essentially left is the material conditions of workers' lives - and the way the profits are divided. The rightists get so exorcised over things that are essentially immaterial to the bottom line of things - that they're willing to sell themselves out to the Robber-Barons - both then, and now.

Do you like the 40-hour work week? Thank people like Joe Hill, who were murdered for trying to get that for you. Are you fond of Child labor? Because it was leftists who ended that. Ever hear of Bloody Harlan? How about the Pinkertons?

If you want to WIN, in a democracy - it makes sense to build coalitions (where you can), to make your numbers massive and unassailable. Divided, the people are easily conquered and ruled... But hey... Do it your way... How did that work out under Reagan? Wages held flat or dropped - even while what there was, was concentrated into fewer and fewer hands. That's good fuel for rightwing working class anger - but that tends to be misdirected at those who are essentially blameless, and powerless. That's punching down, and not up.
