I know about that. Regardless what Lincoln said at the beginning of the war, the Republican party was formed out of the anti-slavery group with in the Whig party. When the Whigs desolved the pro-slavery Whigs joined the Democrat Party and a few formed the No Name Party.

However, the 13th and 14th amendments would not have been ratified without Lincoln pushing so hard to get them ratified.

Another thing about Lincoln, read the Emancipation Proclamation. It ONLY freed slaves in the parts of the South who fought against the United States. The parts of the South who fought on the side of the Union were allowed to keep their slaves until the 14th amendment.

I wish that Virginia and Georgia had put country over slavery in the Revolutionary War. Then the United States would have never been a nation that allowed slavery. There would have never been a civil war and the 10th amendment would not have been devastated by the 14th, which would have not allowed Marxism to get a foothold on America. But that's the Dems for ya. Take away their slaves and they retaliate by making everyone slaves. They are still the party of slavery, they just changed the type of slavery.

Most of our founding fathers knew slavery was evil but had to compromise with those 2 states or they would have fought with England. And England was the world's superpower. It's absolutely amazing that we beat them at all.

I mean it IS my opinion that he should've been impeached a 3rd time for that. No president should be allowed to do that with no punishment. If it had been President Joe Biden the right would have had his head on a pike.
