Take a moment and think what that means.

That some of the wealthy are saying, "there's too much hoarded wealth. We need to tax it."
1 up, 9mo
Nobody is going to tax the wealthy. Neither Party is going to tax themselves. They write the damn laws. They say one thing and do another.
1 up, 9mo
If wealthy neolibs feel they are not paying enough in federal taxes, there is nothing stopping them from transferring money over to the Federal Reserve. But none of them do it, so they must feel our tax structure is fair, as is. No other logical conclusion can be drawn.

Yup.

Bernie is not one of the oppressed. He sold out a long time ago. He stands for nothing.

PragerUwU, how many houses do you own?

Reganomics didn't hurt Bernie much. Anyway, Bidenomics will surely save the day. I think about Bidenomics every time I go to the grocery store.

Re: "the long term effects of Reganomics"

First, everything was Trump's fault? Now it's Ronald Reagan's fault??

From NPR:
The average home mortgage interest rate now tops 7%, the highest in 20+ years

https://www.npr.org/2023/08/22/1195291841/the-average-home-mortgage-interest-rate-now-tops-7-the-highest-in-20-years

Sales of existing homes fell more than 2% in July, as rising mortgage rates kept many would-be buyers and sellers on the sidelines.

Ahhh yes, the (very recent high) interest rates are what has kept prager from being able to buy a home! I knew it wasn't prager's fault...

Reaganomics didn't stop anybody I know from buying a house. I bought my 1st house while working a minimum wage job. Paid it off in 5 years. It ain't what you make, it's if you are willing to make short term sacrifices for long term reward.

As for Bernard's ugly, average looking houses...it ain't the house as much as it is location, location, location.

As for Bernie, etc, not everyone lives in a cheap trailer.
0 ups, 9mo
Not everyone was blessed with angry, jealousy fueled spiteful sarcasm and a propensity for lame attempts at insult...some of us were blessed with self discipline, good money management skills, and grew up to own the trailer parks in which the former reside.

So I can expect to have three houses and a multimillion-dollar bank account when I get his age? All I have to do is preach the virtues of socialism and wealth redistribution. Stealing from the middle class and keeping it is one way to redistribute wealth. Would you like to talk about Pelosi, Biden, or any other Democratic leader's wealth? Of course, Republicans are no better. They just don't preach socialism.

Bernie is rich because he’s been a politician for over 40 years, not because he holds moderately left wing views.

How do you get rich by virtue of being a politician?

Re: "get rich by virtue of being a politician"

Virtue has nothing to do with it!

It's not good for Joe and the Biden Crime Family when news stories about them include explanations of what a Suspicious Activity Report is:

GOP says Biden family financial records a smoking gun. White House calls it a ‘political stunt’
May 10, 2023
https://apnews.com/article/hunter-biden-oversight-republicans-suspicious-activity-report-efd53b27832e7031e522017f98e3d9d8

WHAT IS A SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORT?

Financial institutions are required to file a suspicious activity report to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) no later than 30 calendar days from when it detects a suspicious transaction that could have links to money laundering or terrorism financing.
---

The banks did their job, reporting suspicious activity. So what happened? Not much until James Comer was able to pry loose the previously ignored suspicious activity reports. Unlike all the lawyers in Congress, Comer has a banking background, so he knows where to look.

Wikipedia:
He served as a director of the South Central Bank for 12 years.

Oh, I agree with you. I just wanted to see what the cultural tin foil hat appropriating liberal mind would attribute his amassed wealth to if to deny the obvious.

And you live under the same capitalism, do you not?

prager is a self-admitted communist, so even living under capitalism is quite a burden. all of prager's money is redistributed to the needy.

And there it is. Politicians get wealthy on their govt salary... right? Except in Biden's case; he got rich selling his soul and our country to foreign govts.
0 ups, 9mo
No self professed champion of the worker class, socialist, communist, ever bows out of capitalism nor redistributes their wealth to anyone but amazon, starbucks, and door dash. 😄

And if someone else earns what "you'd expect from someone in his occupation and age bracket" to earn, then it's okay for them to keep their money?

Even though Bernie tells everyone else they need to sacrifice by following the socialist garbage that he spews from his pie hole, but not the capitalist way he lives his life?

Even if they support Trump? It's still okay?

Yet oddly, I, as a plain hardworking American, currently own three pieces of property and have previously owned two prior to what I currently own.

All purchased *after* Reaganomics ruined for you. But somehow not me.

What's really the deal, prager? Are you sacrificing like many others do by living within your means and saving for a home instead of spending your money on tech gadgets and eating in nice restaurants? Just speculating, so please inform me.

I mean, what is it that's really holding you down, when so many others who may have started with less (and it would be hard to start with any less than I did!) are doing relatively well?

It couldn't be... no, no way... it couldn't be... you, could it?

Bernie bought a lakehouse (as a summer home) in a Vermont island community for $575K in 2020.

Bernie, bought his permanent residence in Burlington, VT for $405K in 2009.

Bernie, with his congressional salary at $165,200, bought a row home in Washington DC for $489K in 2007.

Bernie 'first got into politics' in 1981, then was elected to Congress in 1991, and finally the Senate in 2007. So these homes were purchased well after he 'first got into politics'.

And they're very nice homes, too. They're not 'regular-ass' looking by anyone's definition of regular-ass.

Nothing but the finest for the socialist Bern.

Are you upset that Bernie, as a socialist, is doing better than you are, as a communist? It's a question based on speculation, because I have no idea, nor interest in how you're doing, prager. (I know you know that, but there may be others reading this who *might* be confused about that.)

They're all actually rather cheap, and more than a bit on the plain spare type, especially considering the areas. Not-too impressive houses in the worst parts of the Bronx cost more.
0 ups, 9mo
How many of them do you own?
0 ups, 9mo
Consider the 'demographic,' though. To some, that's Beverly Hills level.
