Highest rate of deaths by firearms, according to the link above was in 1974 at 16.3 per 100,000. "In 2020, 54% of all gun-related deaths in the U.S. were suicides (24,292), while 43% were murders (19,384), according to the CDC."

We average 102 deaths per day in automobile accidents.

How many of them are suicide, and how many are deliberate?

Yes. There is an EVIL problem.

Idaho college murders
14 year old strangles younger cousin
Many people pushed onto subway tracks
Man drives through Kenosha parade
Parents killing their own children
Random attacks on strangers in public

None of this is normal.

Evil people exist in the UK as well. They don't have these kinds of gun death stats. So clearly, the evil isn't the actual cause of it - there's something else we're doing differently from all the other countries that don't have this problem.

You think it's more pleasant to die by a thug using a knife or a spouse using poison or a maniac driving a vehicle through a crowd? Violent death is violent death. For a tiny country with a relatively miniscule population compared to the entire United States of America the UK has got a great deal of murdering going on.

Do I really need to explain how much easier it is to survive a knife wound than it is to survive a gunshot?

Or can I just point to the much lower homicide rates in the UK despite their access to cars and knives and let the result speak for itself?
