Enforce current gun laws, and let's see how that works out before passing more gun laws.

They are already banned in those areas, it makes no difference because criminals don’t follow the rules.

The irony is of course that the place where gun control is the most stringent are also the places most gun crimes occur.

FBI data base and long guns only account for 2.6 % of murders. Pistols are 45% and the other 53% are stabbings, strangulation and blunt force trauma. Muskets are only .000008 percent . LOL

The meme said gun deaths, but was really about all violent deaths. That's kind of what I figured it meant.

The meme specifically mentions handguns.

But by all means, explain how the question is irrelevant if I am wrong.

It's not a question of whether or not you are or are not able to fight back with a handgun, it's about what guns are actually used in most gun violence. Ability to defend yourself with either type of gun isn't what it's about.

I can go off on a tangent about how cool the M1911 is, but that isn't at all related, even though it is in fact a handgun.
