It’s a misconception that Native American get paid by the government. For some reason many white people believe indigenous people get money from the casino and the government. It depends on the affiliation to a tribe and what the tribal government decides to do with funding. As far as this is concerned stigma would just be worse for the black community because then white people, Mexican, Asian …ect would be under the assumption that every black person is getting money from the government… I believe in protecting the poor by providing the resources necessary for survival to anyone in need… but the issue will lie in the new tribal aspect. Where ever person who has the family history of being a slave would have to carry a card with the amount of blood tying them to the ancestor who was a slave. Then a special government would have to preside over the newly formed slave survivors. If we want to be logical about the issue at had, the government allowed slavery in history. But just like today minus the killing, torture, and ownership over a human who had black skin, many jobs have created this issue of unequal low pay just because they can situation with no merit. The government has kept low minimum wage standards adding to the problem. The issue of reparations is a tuff one because the history exists and that wound is hard to heal. But even in reservation’s today, the problems caused by the government is still strong. I’m not a liberal btw, I’m a humanitarian.

So you're not inclined to make a donation for Americas history of slavery despite being a benefactor by living in a nation built on the backs of slaves? Surely you believe white americans owe compensation due to the systemic racism black people have encountered as a result of the slave trade?

I guess the question would stand, and not everyone that is black has a tie to ancestors who were slaves. The problem would exist that anyone from Africa could immigrate over for the extra paycheck because they are black. The only way true assistance for anyone with slave heritage would have to be the creation of a system that proves blood quantity levels, and a documented tie to a slave ancestor. Like the Indigenous tribes handle their sovereign government which would in the end be funded through federal funding, and business owned by the tribe, which would in the end make them a tribe. But of course, this is all just an idea. The Reparations conversation has many aspects behind it. Why someone would feel entitled to reparations vs someone who doesn't feel entitled to reparations is a really interesting concept. If history could be left as history, and society makes sure it's not repeated hopefully that can heal the wounds. Living as though history happened yesterday brings up a lot of unnecessary anger. So many issues in todays society need to be addressed and solved.
