Not saying it's every case, but there do seem to be some parents who encourage it, and assume that any gender non-conforming behavior must definitively mean their child was born in the wrong body.

I have heard trans people have considerably higher rates of suicide and suicidal thoughts compared to people who aren't... And I was kind of thinking who would want their kid to be more likely to be suicidal? Maybe the idea is something akin to virtue signaling idk.
