Because it's really more about judging - as a means of hating - rather than actual behavior or culture or whatever.

I can give you two examples. There are conservatives who want to overturn the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage, and the more recent decision prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

If somebody thinks it should be legal to deny me a job because of my sexual orientation, that affects me directly.

And have they done that yet? No, so it is not impacting your life tonight, is it.

So you are allowing something that may or may not happen to detrimentally impact your life. Sad way to live, and maybe you should look into why you let it impact you that way. Maybe with that one day you will find happiness.
