Funny you mention sanctuary cities, because they are that because they can be.
Their economies are what? The strongest in the USA. And the most what? The most diversified. Like their populace?
Less diversified cities - wait, there aren't any - - towns, trailer parks, whatev, are economically what? It's almost as if there was a correlation between how homogenous a population is and how myopically moribund its economy is.
And spare the "But NYC has that port" excuse. That was New Amstersdam. This is 2022.
Minus the Mexican and Canadian border s other than the lakes), we have coastlines galore outlining us, and to say the South & Southwest are simply devoid of anything a ship can dock in is ridiculous. And if such was the case, if they can channel through the Bayou, if they can channel through Florida to drain[!] Lake Okeechobee, they can make a port or two in them dead end states with their traditional populations who can trace their roots back to their penal colony ancestors during colonization. No excuses.
And who the heck would want to live in them states? I mean, other than the refugees resettled in them by the gov't?
