False. I like facts, period. Most conservatives stand with me.

Words cannot tell you how tired I am of hearing this made up left wing media hogwash, I suggest you stop saying it as it makes you sound uneducated. The only bigoted people are the ones spewing this garbage into your ears/eyes.

"conservatives have always been on the wrong side of history"

got me rolling on the ground with that one. abe lincoln was a republican. if you know your history, you know he also played the biggest role in freeing the slaves in the south during the civil war. was he on the wrong side of history for that? thats just one example. i could go on forever.

values of both parties change throughout the years anyway. conservatives and liberals do not believe in the same principles we did 100 years ago, generally speaking.

The EC was basically a big flip off to the Confeds, albeit unenforceable, as he knew it'd be. Nevertheless he hoped it'd be a means to get slaves to declare themselves free and................... join the Union Army coming through town so they can fight for him! You're free! Now fight for me!

it doesnt matter if he said that or not. actions speak louder than words and his actions lead to the abolishment of slavery in the usa. most former slaves chose to fight for the union to free more slaves. stop denying history the way you deny facts.

Those still are still his words still.
Facts are facts. Revisionist partisan hack propaganda, by definition, isn't.

"[Lincoln] certainly embraced anti-black attitudes and phobias in his early years and throughout his debates with Douglas in the 1858 Senate race… By the end of the Civil War, Lincoln was on an upward arc, perhaps heading toward becoming the man he has since been mythologized as being: the Great Emancipator, the man who freed — and loved — the slaves. But his journey was certainly not complete on the day that he died. Abraham Lincoln wrestled with race until the end."
- historian Henry Louis Gates

So, genius, is that the sum of all that Lincoln believed?

Democrats = racist slave owners
Republicans = not monolithic, but still were the ones that freed the slaves

Democrats = baby murderers
Republicans = not monolithic, but still the Party pushing to outlaw such murder

See how that works? No one is perfect, but it matters what we do in our imperfection.

You’re entitled to your own opinions, but you’re not entitled to your own facts.

Change can be good, and change can be bad. If you remove the crankshaft from a transmission, that’s change for the worse.

Changing our country away from what made it successful is dumb. Socialism = fail. I know this because of history. For example: Mao Zedong.

you do realize not every single progressive is an anti-capitalist, right?

That’s an interesting point. I believe that is very true. In fact, I’d likely be progressive from the standpoint of some years ago.

Unfortunately, the current leaders of the progressive party have taken a sharp left turn direct socialism with a large serving of hedonism. It’s a super bummer. I think most “progressives” are unaware of these traits, and that’s largely what has gotten our country into its current pickle.

when you say ''progressive party'' do you mean the dems? As a progressive socialist (marxist-leninist) I would have to disagree.

"logically, 1860 democrats would had been CONSERVATIVE, OPPOSING CHANGE."

Factually, in the Election of 1860, DemocratS (both parties) didn't fit into that cubicle.
Fact is, it wasn't that they were against change, they were against the Federal Gov't deciding it for the states, which is how they saw the slavery issue, as one to be decided on the individual state level.

i dont have the exact quote, but i remember harris saying at an interview she would absolutely get the covid vaccine as soon as she could. "but if trump supports it and encourages it i will refuse it"

that doesnt sound like supporting the science, now does it?
5 ups, 2y
so, are you trying to say we are the same? meaning that both sides only follow the science when it is convenient?
