80% of Americans support limits on abortion, especially late-term abortion when science shows unborn babies can feel excruciating pain.

Then it’s a good thing Roe v. Wade always allowed states to restrict late-term abortions… OOPS

Can you think of any situations in which an abortion might be necessary? Any at all?

If you can’t, here’s one

Ahhh, the old logical fallacy argument. “What what a vegan do if he was stranded on a deserted island with a pig and no food?”

Gestating another human being is the most complex process alive. There are 100,000 things that can go wrong during a pregnancy. There’s nothing hypothetical or logically fallacious about this. Pregnancy complications have been well-documented. Nature is a bitch. Medicine tries to stay one step ahead, but doesn’t always win.

Women will die under extremely restrictive abortion laws. That’s a fact. And if the woman dies, most of the time the fetus doesn’t live either. If the fetus does survive, then it grows up without a mother and possibly enters the precarious and uncertain adoption/foster care system.

Would you at least agree to “life-of-the-mother” exceptions? Or is that a bridge too far?
3 ups, 2y
I think life-of-the-mother, incest, and rape are all uniquely valid reasons to terminate a pregnancy at the very earliest possible time…with the former given the most leeway on time.

When you dismissed the death of a woman as simply a logical fallacy.

Now, if you meant to call it a strawman as if to say that you agree that there are situations where an abortion should be necessary, you could say that. And should.

However, if you believe there should be no exceptions then there is no logical fallacy. You just are ignorant and don’t understand why abortion was deemed at the very least necessary in extreme situations.

Besides, opening your responses with a strawman, “ Why do you want to kill unborn children so badly?” Is rich when you complain about logical fallacies in your follow up.

But I’m willing to give you a chance to clarify your position instead of hiding behind hypocrisy and your own logical fallacies.

Tell us. Should a few women die or remain afraid of the possibility of death if a pregnancy becomes fatal; or are there pregnancies that should be terminated if they are at the cost of a woman’s life? I’m most anxious to read your opinion.

Oy vey. 🤦🏼‍♂️

A straw man argument IS a logical fallacy, genius. Nobody is arguing that women on their death beds should be allowed to die. That’s now the third time I’ve said it here. Women having their life in danger because of a pregnancy does not happen very often and is a very unique situation. Hence, the pig on a deserted island reference. Yet again, get your facts straight before you hate.

Correct, a strawman is a logical fallacy. Very good! That’s why I said:

“Besides, opening your responses with a strawman, “Why do you want to kill unborn children so badly?” Is rich when you complain about logical fallacies in your follow up.”

I was calling you a hypocrite. That’s a person who engages in the very thing they criticize others of doing.

You could’ve just stated your views on abortion once instead of trolling. Your emotional exhaustion is based on your own failure to simply clarify your position when the opportunity was presented. But I’m glad my intervention have lead to some sort of intellectual integrity on your part.

Do better.

You are more full of crap than Biden’s diaper. You said I “dismissed the death of a woman as simply a logical fallacy.” and then tried to tell me what I should have called it:

“Now, if you meant to call it a strawman as if to say that you agree that there are situations where an abortion should be necessary, you could say that.”

Why would I need to call it a strawman if that’s what a strawman is? Take your time, genius.

Fair enough. However, late-term abortions have always been open to regulations and bans, even under Roe v. Wade.

The Supreme Court’s upcoming decision in Dobbs is set to go way way farther than that.
2 ups, 2y,

I don’t think anyone wants this, we just want people who can become pregnant to be able to choose.

Easy, if your STATE has made an abortion illegal then get in your electric car and drive to a STATE that still welcomes the killing of unborn children.

Obviously some of you have not been paying the closest of attention - if the Supreme Court overturns Roe it doesn't mean that all 50 STATES will nix abortions, just that all 50 STATES will have the ability to choose how they want to handle the issue.

Why do you want to kill women -who could be functional members of society and have a baby when they’re ready- so badly?
3 ups, 2y,

So aborted fetuses (if they were allowed to develop and be born) can’t become functional members of society? And before you stick your nose into the debate of two people, perhaps you should get your facts straight before you hate. As you can so clearly read, I’ve made exceptions for women having health complications, rape, and incest victims. You’re a horrible detective. #TrollSomewhereElse

Then don’t generalize people who support abortions for some as a desire to kill unborn if you’re so moderate in your views.

Perhaps take your own advice and #TrollSomewhereElse.

What, are you his mommy doing his bidding for him? Or, are you a troll with multiple accounts? You see, we adults take the information we are given and begin the debate from there. Nowhere did it say anything in that meme about a sick mother. Once the topic of sick mothers was brought up, I acquiesced and even opined about rape and incest. For the third (and hopefully last) time, get your facts straight before you hate.

Next time mind your own f**king business and don’t jump on someone else’s thread like a child and throw yourself into their debate. That’s why a stream can have multiple threads.
1 up, 2y
You mean like you did?

Sorry to say but next time, be aware that you're talking in an open forum, not private messaging. So anyone can jump on your thread or anyone else's. It's not childish, it's by design.

Next time, don't open with a logical fallacy, then accuse someone of participating in a logical fallacy when they show an actual example in what causes their argument to have merit.

If you truly believed there should be exceptions for abortions; you wouldn't have anything to have said.

The only child who spoke up and got owned; is you.

Do better.

See ya around, kid.

Should also note, your statement that you’ve “made exceptions for women having health complications, rape, and incest victims.” was after I made my comment, not before.

Can’t read something that didn’t exist. Nice try.

Further, such a comment would’ve been better served for the exchange above.

You should note that you are full of crap and are now backpedaling. I posted my comment (to someone else) and you didn’t even reply on that thread. Your comment appeared after I posted mine. Had you stayed on point, you would have avoided this embarrassment. Read it and weep.
1 up, 2y
“Why would I need to call it a strawman if that’s what a strawman is? Take your time, genius.”

Ah, I see. You don’t know how to argue. Because if someone is strawmaning your position - which means intentionally misrepresenting your position or argument; then the best defense is to actually clarify your position in order to discredit the strawman. Stating it is strawman without the clarification; doesn’t actually clarify your position. One could assume you were for all abortion or for exceptions before you finally clarified. You seemed entirely antagonistic to someone who appears to be arguing those very exceptions.

You should also note the timestamps are more indicative of the presentation of comments. No, you had not commented before my comments otherwise I would’ve read your comments. I won’t say you’re lying; you just might not know how comments are organized.

And your attempts to prove otherwise are fruitless. You make a great deal of assumptions and seem very prone to your frustrations so I most definitely recommend you do not use strawman fallacies in the future if you’re so hostile about the idea of repeating yourself unnecessarily.

There is no need to be embarrassed.

If you do better in the future.

I see no point in giving this anymore attention. But you can continue to try to prove something. I already have proven that you’re not only incapable of arguing and prone to hypocrisy. But don’t give up. If you learn form your mistakes, you’ll not only be less frustrated in the future but you’ll argue much better.

Good luck with your future comments.

Cheers.
