Byrd never changed. He creeped people out on the set of a civil war movie when he showed up with an authentic 1880s era Klan outfit.
There's no video footage of him ever apologizing for being an active Klan officer. There is footage of him saying "there's white N_______ too!" on CBS 60 Minutes when they tried to wheedle an apology out of him.
