WTF is going on in Texas ?

Out of curiosity I looked it up. The bill does not require the teaching of alternative perspective on The Holocaust and the head of that school district has got no intention of doing that anyway.

Making people capitalize the the before holocaust? Is it now illegal not to do so?

Well I certainly don't know about the holocaust subject but I do know plenty about the history of slavery and racism and the current curriculum (or substantial lack thereof..) that drastically selects and skews information to push specific narratives on the subjects.

I luckily went to a private school that provided world history (which is always incredibly important for the purposes of context) so we often got to hear what people did (and to each other) around the world and the full context of a wide variety of different subjects..

Cut to the modern era and it seems that the subject of slavery (for example) is little more than 'white man owned slaves, white man bad'
with the impression (sometimes lies by omission?..) that slavery was invented by american white people who ran around africa with a big net...

Obviously that isn't the case and even the accurate parts that actually do get taught are 10% of the entire story at best
but its the only part of the story that seems to get told these days... theres a reason for this and its because most of the remaining 90% includes things that conflicts with the narrative thats being pushed.

No liberal history teacher wants to talk about how black tribes enslaved other black tribes and sold them in slave markets to the world, including other black tribes. No liberal teacher wants to talk about how the islamic caliphate purchased slaves for 1000 years before America even formed, and no liberal teacher wants to talk about the nations who purchased more than america, the nations that still do, wherethe majority of slaves actually went or even the native americans who owned them too..

Doesn't help the narrative so the information is omitted...

Yes not everybody is in every class every time... I also missed a whole bunch of the Norman conquest too

And ofcourse unlike yourself, I don't pretend to have informed opinions when I don't know much about it....and looking at your meme and comment history you make that mistake at least 30 times a week.

Perhaps, but that is not an argument. Right? If the NAZI were indeed bad, then your position should be easy to defend and prove while opposing views are easy to debunk.

However, if one's argument is simply, "Of course the NAZIS were bad, are you dumb?" Then you're not really any different than those who scream, "Of course climate change is real, are you dumb?"

Human beings are minor creatures with limited thinking capabilities. To each and everyone, they all believe they are right and not only so, they believe they are so right, everyone is wrong without prejudice. This is why this nation is falling apart.

So, maybe we were taught a few things that weren't true? Not implying anything did or didn't happen, but why cannot things be questioned or examined? WWII history is like The Warren Report

There is the establishment, and there is the insurgency. Depending on where you are, common sense means you are in the insurgency. Being a groomer, holocaust denial, is the establishment position these days.

Everything has an opposing view. That doesn't necessary mean the opposing view is correct. However, it is important to examine the opposing view so you can debunk it. This is the heart of critical thinking and objectivity. Without an opposing view, then you are just being indoctrinated. That is the definition of indoctrination.
