There was no point in doing that to him since by then lots of other people had complete and accurate hard drive copies. The best the FBI could do for their masters was to 'lose' the original so that the Dem Party's leadership -- via their mainstream media loyalists -- could claim that the other copies were invalid examples of Russian Disinformation . . . which was good enough back in 2020.
