SO? That PROVES my point if anything: the Flu is more deadly to my age range then the Coronavirus. All the masks did was hide this important fact. Maybe people WILL not die as often with a mask, but wearing one should be your choice- not enforced by the state. besides, people will die of disease regardless of what we do. It's not a pleasant fact, but it's true. We shouldn't live in constant fear because we or someone we know MIGHT be one of those people.

many people, including myself now, have already gotten the vaccine. If you don't get the vaccine (when you easily could have) and die from Coronavirus, that's on you, not me. I'm very happy to explain why masks need to still be worn by the vaccinated.

Masks still cut transmission down, especially when they are worn correctly and are made of efficient material. Studies show that vaccinated persons still transmit the virus if they become infected albeit at a reduced capacity. They can also still get sick but not as sick as someone who wasn't vaccinated or lacks immunity from a previously weaker infection. Further, the masks serve as a precaution in case new variants crop up that the vaccines are even less effective against.

At this time, it is unknown how effective the covid vaccines are against the omicron variant.

we never wore masks constantly before the virus. now that we have the vaccine, why start now? the only people who are not getting the vaccine are the ones who accept the risk of not getting it, and I don't want to keep wearing masks and enduring lockdowns because of them.

We never used much soap before the dark ages, either.

The vaccine's effectiveness is still in question. It is better to be cautious.

I understand the frustrations of wearing masks, honestly. That is a fair objection, but not fair enough to objectively maintain in the face of the facts.

I should mention, it may become more common during cold and flu seasons to wear masks. Though, I don't think they should be mandated in the longterm.

For instance, I usually get very terrible allergies during the spring but the last two years, I've not had a problem since wearing masks outdoors. And even in the fall when I do leaves I've had less issues with congestion thanks to mask wear.
