Granted it didn't translate well, but that was a reiterating of the February recommendation. Correlation is not causation, especially when he are talking about a recommendation, not implementation.
Did Japan actually start prescribing it for all patients? It seems like a stretch though to give ivermectin credit since no other country that has tried it and even the trials that suggested it was useful haven't claimed anything like these results. Some studies have shown it is effective, to be sure, and I would have no issue with it being recommended... But at this point we have other treatments such as monoclonal antibodies that are more effective.
