Conservatives are safer with real guns than liberals are with prop guns.

Absolutely. Conservatives learn gun safety. Leftists fear guns and therefore no nothing about them. Well... not all leftist fear guns. Most of the mass shootings are committed by leftists.

No, their not posing as any one. They just go out and start shooting. They're also psychotic. It is the media that wants you to believe they're all on the right but the facts just don't bear that out.

It goes in this order:
Radical leftist - vast majority
Apolitical psychos
Islamic terrorists
And way down the list are conservatives. I count all of them on 1 finger.

All you have to do is read to the end of the article. You may have to wait a day or two before someone lets it be known. The left tries very hard to cover it up and blame it on the right. They'll even go so far to say that because they are white they are conservative Christians, like they did with Timothy McVeigh after the Oklahoma bombing. McVeigh was an atheist. I don't remember his political leanings, if he had any, but I would be shocked if he was conservative.

No. You're putting words in my mouth. What I am saying is I don't even point a gun at another person. Not even joking around.

99.999% of the time my guns are in a gun safe. The only time I shoot them is to poke holes in paper at a shooting range.

I ysed to be in the ONE RULE crowd, "Point your weapon at what you want to destroy and nothing else."

You're title speaks volumes! I made that argument to a lib earlier today. Any time that there's a shooting actors, producers, and directors come out of the woodwork and find a TV camera to cry in front of. They donate untold millions to candidates that want to confiscate guns.

At the end of the day, however, Hollywood makes more money from guns than the NRA does and does way more to promote and glorify gun violence to today's utes than anything in society. Will they eliminate all movies that depict gun violence? Not likely, as long as they continue to make money.

Look the big deal Hollywood made over the John Wick movies. Don't get me wrong, they were good movies but I would have never expected such adulation from Hollywood over those movies. It is not like they haven't ever made a shoot em up revenge movie before. They've made tons of them. Perhaps more of them than just about any other kind of movie.

Revenge flicks are big business in Hollywood and they all include some type of weapon, mostly firearms. It is a very common plot to portray the bad guy as someone who is about as evil as you can get and at the end of the movie he is made to die in the most brutal way possible.

I have attempted to make this point repeatedly. It is not violent video games or violent movies that cause gun violence, but there is a corelation with unrestricted access to violent content and gun violence. The refusal of the entertainment industry to police itself with regard to violent content while crying about gun violence is the epitomy of hypocrisy.

Exactly. I have a few very expense hole punchers. That is all they have ever been used for, punching holes in paper targets. I also have a shotgun that has only been used for blowing up flying pottery disks and putting a bruise on my shoulder.

The records show that most people are killed with pistols. Very, very few with all kinds of rifles, including AKs or ARs. More actually with hunting rifles and shotguns in fact.

Bbbbbuuuttt, AKs and ARs are so scary!

No, A man walks into a bar and sees his friend sitting beside a 12-inch pianist. He says to his friend, "That's amazing. Where did he come from?"
The friend pulls out an old lamp and tells him the genie inside will grant him one wish. The man rubs the bottle, and to his amazement, a puff of purple smoke spews out and slowly collects in the form of a genie. In a booming voice the genie tells the man he has but one wish.
The man thinks and says, "I wish I had a million bucks." All of a sudden the bar is filled with ducks, bursting from the door and the windows, standing on top of the bar, dunking their heads into people’s drinks.
“What just happened?!” the guy asks. His friend replies, "I know. Did you really think I wanted a 12-inch pianist?"

I just found out that there is a firearm safety protocol for Hollywood movie guns and it is the same as for all guns. Baldwin was told by the prop manager that the gun was "cold" and was practicing shooting the gun when he shot and killed the director of photography.

I don't know, as there is little I put past the liberal mindset. And I suspect the CGI artist community will happily support banning even prop guns.

Actually it IS an argument for gun safety. Baldwin didn't know the first thing about gun safety and now a woman is dead because he decided to goof off with a deadly weapon. Anti-gunners tend to be the LEAST safe around guns because they never bother to learn anything about them.

i think the answer is to train people who use guns to use then correctly rather that make this a political issue. we both agree on 99% of what happened there
[deleted]

Oh Well is correct. If I am not mistaken they use real guns in movies but they put blanks in them. That being the case nearly every gun owner knows never go point a firearm at something or someone that you don't want to destroy. Hollywood, then violates that basic rule of gun safety everytime they make a movie.

The one organization who teaches private citizens, the police and the military on gun safety is the same organization the left wants to bring down. The NRA has only saved lives. They have never caused lives to be taken. Some states require a basic gun safety course whenever you purchase a hand gun. Other states require a gun safety course to get a conceal carry permit.

The legal gun owner, by and large, have all been taught the fundamentals of gun safety. It is only the left and their haplophobia, who know nothing of gun safety and therefore assume no one else does either.

If we were as untrained as you think we are then most of us wouldn't be around to talk about it.

and...

If gun owners were as violent as they portray us, there would be no anti-gun people left.

Absolutely. Once the gun control freaks start with a forced gun buy back or just door to door confiscations you are going to see a war start. A war that will result in the deaths of far too many innocent people. The left doesn't think that way. They think we are all sheep like they are.

What?
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
what do you mean?
[deleted]
1 up, 3y,

Not completely. If Hollywood is using real firearms then they should take all of the same safety precautions that private citizens take. They are real good as disguising the fact that no one ever actually punches anyone in a movie. All fighting is done with creating filming techniques so that no one actually gets hurt. The same thing should be done with firearms. Either that or they make prop guns that look like real guns. Those prop guns should be made so that it is impossible to launch any type of projectile.

Baldwin is not the first one to accidentally shoot someone and he won't be the last. It is rare when something like this happens but if they practiced the same type of safety as private citizens practice then there would never be any incidents like this ever happening again.

Let us get one thing straight, this was not an Accidental Discharge!

It was a Negligent Discharge.

He was mishandling a deadly weapon, as if it was a toy. He ignored every RULE of gun safety, likely because he is totally ignorant of them.

You never take anyone's word that a gun is clear/cold. You clear every gun you handle, yourself.

Then you never point it at anything or anyone you are not willing to destroy.

I'm not pissed. I actually feel a little sorry for Baldwin. I think he probably a pompous jerk in real life but I have no way to verify that. I don't know him, I've never met him and I doubt I ever will. I don't know anyone in the entertainment industry.

Regardless if he is a pompous jerk or not I still feel a little sorry for the dude. He has to live with that on his conscious the rest of his life.
