Beyond China, I imagine the people in power in Russia, North Korea, etc would also share that sentiment.

And I mean sure... Troll farms in whatever countries trying to pump out division and mistrust in our system of government are cool but 700,000 deaths without a single boot on the ground....... meanwhile Americans are actually telling each other the deaths and even covid itself is fake news..... And many seem to not want the vaccine our own country developed...... f*cking priceless right there.

(Assuming the antivaxxers and covid deniers here are even American in the first place.... I wouldn't really be surprised either way at this point)

You're using a chart from an article that (in multiple places) adds a disclaimer that the 2020 data is provisional.

That means it's either incomplete, or unverified. Vital statistics like this are usually not available for a year the conclusion of the records - which is why 2019 is available and verified, but 2020 isn't. We won't see verified 2020 data until 2022.

That they're pushing this out now tells me that it's political, but then again - that's obvious. The CDC is now a political organization.

The CDC puts out quarterly provisional reports and have for a while. Either way, the provisional numbers wouldn't be expected to change a whole lot except to go up.

Here's a fun one - China and the CDC were ordering massive numbers of PCR (coronavirus) tests before the infections in Wuhan were ever announced.
