It appears the pastor may have objected to the bill’s harshest provisions — but, he still praised it overall.
It’s clear he’s not aiming to be any kind of champion of human rights, but to slot unobtrusively into an existing government- and church-backed anti-LGBTQ agenda. There are many missionaries who travel abroad who fit that description. We all have to pick our battles, don’t we? And for someone who travels abroad to preach religion, not ruffling feathers is an easy call to make.
whistlelock’s summation of this episode in his meme may strike you as a stretch — and perhaps it is — but it’s rooted in at least a kernel of reality. Maybe more than a kernel.
