As someone who has traditionally "liberal" views on things, I'm gonna agree with you. They should have shown activism elsewhere.
It brings up a good point, that is, how America has become needlessly divided, but it should have been conveyed somewhere other than a sporting event.
Then again, it is a free country. Anyone is entitled to their own opinions and practices.
But I agree that just because the nation is in turmoil does not mean what it stands for should be disrespected.

I understand your concern with how she conducted herself, and I do agree with you here. She raises a point, but she's doing it in a way that's disrespectful. Within her rights, yes, but disrespectful.
The malice isn't towards America itself, but more so towards societal pressures. I understand that most of these have been dealt with, but there's still progress to be made, which can be done by teaching people to treat others with fairness and respect, which is what's been going on. But those kinds of things take time, which is something that people are being impatient about. Yes, there are things we can do to work on things now, and we're not where we should be in terms of equality, but that also doesn't warrant spite and division. If anything, it should spark people to be more compassionate...

If she is expressing hate towards America, that's less the fault of schooling and more a wrong target. Hate should be discouraged, but when that discouragement turns into more hate, and overgeneralization turns it from hate towards inequality to hate towards where that's happening, then I can see how someone can come to hate America. But that's not what's being taught. It's what happens when people overgeneralize.

There are laws that expressly state that teachers from kindergarten to senior year aren't supposed to inject their political views into teaching. As someone who spent my childhood in that system, the stuff specifically about marginalized communities seemed to be pretty apolitical in nature. Yes, it highlighted that there was suffering, but it never blamed white communities, just the society at the time. And it certainly doesn't blame modern society for past suffering.

Ok then, I will assume that you have been out of school for at least a decade....because my daughter who is just nine ....is in school and I know the shit that they are teaching there.....they are teaching kids to hate the West, and Whites.....and teachers are very political SJWs. Higher education....sciences:....I am better off for leaving....but unfortunately the students are not (not because I had left but generally the state of our education).....as the new mantra recently is that maths and the sciences are a Whiteman's (I am not White by the way) construct and so racist. That is the reason that our students go into high school and our universities intelligent and brimming with potential but come out as dumb as rocks....many with enormous debts and useless degrees....and really angry because the promises of extraordinary jobs and salaries promoted by our universities go unfilled. But they do make great SJWs though (and maybe that was the point of educating them)....bored and raring to go to change the world into the liberals' image....whatever that might be! The universe only knows because they keep changing their agenda and goals in a blink of an eye!
