First we need to protect the cops. Or we won’t have any and you can be left to protect yourself - but not with any weapon that can kill. Second, families need to teach their kids to respect snd obey cops. Third, Fight about it in court, not in on the street. It’s safer. Fourth, people need to use self control and common sense. Is running from a warrant really worth risking your life? Apparently “yes”. But, once you choose that coarse, don’t complain if you doubled down & lost. Fifth, drugs are not cool. They make your mind & body do unnatural things and this is a bad situation for everyone when you are stopped. But, again, it’s a choice, which can lead to a bad outcome. These choices are not made by our lawmen. They will tell you they’d rather these poor choices not be made. But that’s not THEIR choice. All they can do is react to the situation the perp puts them in. Sixth, more high tech training and practice is in order for lawmen. Seventh, unions must stop the firing of urban cops. That’s where the bad shootings occur - in Union law enforcement. Because the cop who should have been let go is more likely to be a dangerous cop as well. Those are very few people but many in their unit know who they are and know they will never be fired. The Floyd cop fits that.
