It was our desire to not repeat the mistakes of 1979 and leave the country in the midsts of civil war between various warring factions that lead us to stay there. Any return of the Taliban or whomever else in out absence could have been slapped down twice as fast.

Also, sudden cardiac arrest typically follows a violent struggle? What!? I mean sure, if a person is a certain age, size, weight; or a combination of those factors, sure I can understand why it would be classified as typical. But if the methods you’re using to successfully restrain an individual, with the intention for them to survive; then I don’t think a cardiac arrest should be a typical result for every suspect.

People are already working to eliminate this kind of restraint because of numerous instances where it results in the death of suspects being too great. There has got to be a better way.
