Gas is not an unlimited resource therefore as we continue to use it, it will naturally become more scarce meaning the price must go up if the companies are to survive. As for Dr. Seuss and such they were removed by the companies, there was no partaking in the left as you are claiming. All the Dr. Seuss company did was stop publishing 6 books everything else is still available meaning that Dr. Seuss was not canceled. Mr. Potato head is still available he's just no longer being marketed as "Mr. Potato Head". It's the same thing with Pepe pe lew he was cut by whoever was in charge of the movie he was going to be in.
