I said that high density population areas are going to be dirty. Same thing in Houston and other areas everywhere. They are also working on cleaning it up. That is why they have street cleanings. Also Covid-19 made the living cost higher so people are moving out to other areas that have lower living costs. Also look at Prop 13 and you will see that it made house prices soar. A lot of people in The bay area have college degrees, which means that there are more office jobs. This is a high demand area that many people want to live in.Also the climate is chaparral, which is the Mediterranean climate. Also, who comes to Cali for the beaches? I have not met anyone who does that. Most people come for the sightseeing and other things like that. If you want beaches, go to Hawaii or mexico. People come to Cali for the same reason people go to New York and European cities

Cost of living was already way high when I was living there back in early 2000s nothing to do with COVID, if you want to blame it on COVID, then blame it on the Democrats leading that state and their crappy actions towards it. Yes also cost of living was high because of Silicon Valley, but my point is that people are leaving because of those reasons. You are not getting what we are saying, you are in your own tantrum hypothesizing why the cost of living is high and why it is a dirty place to live (LA). The point is, people are fleeting that shit hole for other states, specially now that people can work from home through internet, and there are other cities with better cost of living and better internet, Californians that are smart, including those with college degrees and office jobs, are picking up on that and leaving. Because in Cali they can pay up to 4000$ for a 1 bedroom apartment when in Tennessee they can rent a house with better internet for about 1000$, and have fresh air and not having to live with streets covered in human feces and high crime.

uhm, the major reason for cost of housing going up, in south California, from LA to San Diego was 1) limited land 2) large population. There is a term in basic economics called supply and demand. That is why you see home owners in Cali renting their garage to another families, also what is adding to those numbers is the large amount of illegal immigrants.
