They are 100 years behind because green energy isn’t as sustainable as fossil fuels. The energy density of petroleum is so much greater than even the best batteries. And these, so called, “green” energy companies are harming the environment as much or more than petroleum companies, with all the byproducts and toxic waste they produce ending up in landfills. It feels good driving an electric car, charged by solar and/or wind power until you realize how much petroleum was used to extract the raw materials, manufacture, distribute, install and maintain all equipment required for your “green” lifestyle.
But, hey, it gives you a warm feeling inside knowing you paid extra taxes so that any reduction in emissions from your car are countered by all the emissions and toxic waste produced to make run it.
