lokiare, I know this is long, but it explains my position.
[part 1 of 2]
I was coerrect. You do not understand what Socialism is. What you are doing is like McCarthyism because you accept "Socialism" as a scare word. Its a propaganda tactic.
.
First of all, Socialism is an economic state. Communism and fascism are forms of government. I am against communism. And by definition, tRUMPf and his supporters are 100% fascists.
Remember this:
Capitalism = Anyone can be rich by any means (Open to abuses from the private sector)
Communism = No one can be rich...ever (Open to abuses by the government)
Socialism = Anyone can be rich, except that no one can be poor
And Bernie Sanders' form of Socialism is called Democratic Socialism.
As a Socialist, I am grateful for an open market system that rewards creativity and hard work. But also as a Socialist, I have a problem with Alice Walton receiving an $8 Billion tax return check the same week she laid off 20,000 Sam's club employees.
As a Socialist, I have a problem with taxes being cut for the wealthy while there are people that have a hard time paying for prescriptions because they have to pay for rent, car, food, internet, etc for their family while working 2 jobs that give no benefits because no one is hiring full-time.
I have a problem with people that can't afford medical procedures while the health insurance companies and Big Pharma are raking in BILLIONS. And I don't care what anyone says...both Mitch McConnell and his wife are in the pocket of Eli Lilly and big pharma. He governs based on THAT.
Socialists believe that everyone should have meaningful and productive FULL time work and work a 40 to 60 hour week and that you should be able to afford all the bare necessities of life based on that paycheck. And if that means that Jeff Bezos has to only make $100 Million per day instead of $212 Million per day, then so be it. If he does not want to do that then I am sure someone else would. And if someone want to work beyond that, or put in extra effort, then they are free to earn more to buy a nice car, or a playstation, or a trip to Disney World. And if they want to become millionaires, then kudos, as long as their employees are sufficiently employed. There is plenty of money to go around without the hoarders like the top 1% who hold 90% of the wealth.
