Naww, it actually was really good. O'Connor and Stapleton were great actors. It's actually pretty funny. They wanted to make Archie the bad guy, but O'Connor who was a liberal was so good, it had a pretty satisfying character arc. The virtue signaling leftist Mike, current intolerable leftist Rob Reiner, who sponged off Arch for years, ended up abandoning his wife and child, in an act of hypergamy. After years of support. But yeah, it was a LOUD show.

When I was way young, this classmate across the street loved the show because he thought IT was racist, Archie, anyways. He took it as literal. So that turned me off.

Even years later when I found out that view of the show was incorrect, I couldn't change the taint, plus the rest of the family seemed even more annoying anyways. Struthers did catch my young eye some with the curves, but that was later.

I'm guessing it's been awhile since you've watched Sydney. Archie was repeatedly shown to be in the wrong with extreme right wing views. Nearly in every episode.

The show is worthy of watching for the simple reason it was a series that broke many TV taboo's. First show with a toilet flush sound was heard, for example. Not a big deal of course but the one that comes to mind.
