As a registered Libertarian I am far from looking at Trump as a "God". Crazy how the world has been turned upside down right? Over 1 million people gathered in Berlin three weeks ago with no masks or social distancing. They should be dropping like flies right? The suicide, drug overdoses, hunger and world poverty that may be coming are far more worrisome to me than a virus that kills almost no one that is young and healthy. As a grandfather of four, if I have to be at risk to keep the world somewhat normal for the kids then so be it. I have not worn a mask once and we have several bars in our town where we gather with no distancing or precautions. So far so good.

What should he have done?

First of all, earlier this year we saw people come in massive waves to grocery stores buying loads of toilet paper, making it harder for people to get it. My mother works in a grocery store, and this is true. She doesn't even live in a city! Donald Trump was trying to calm people down, while recently, Biden said that Trump killed 200,000,000 people during Covid. The media has been attacking Trump relentlessly since he won in 2016, so I don't find it fair that you critisize him for doing the same.

Second of all, he did make it his number one priority. He banned all Travel to China before anybody else, he put trillions of dollars to stimulate the economy and he made a Coronavirus Task Force very early on. I wonder who did daily press briefings about what he was doing to fight the virus... I bet that the violent riots in the streets didn't help with the unity or division, and they didn't help with slowing down Covid.

Third of all, I've seen Trump supporters be far more open than leftists. You are less likely to be attacked by an armed Trump supporter, than an Antifa member. Also, open carriers are 6x less likely to commit crimes than even off-duty police officers.

Also, remember this. The Federal Government is the Federal Government. They can't control the cities, or the states. Trump has his own jurisdictions. He did the best he could. I know I assumed you believe a few things I wrote here, but whatever.

The left already has. Many people have been shot and killed by BLM "protesters". George Floyd overdosed making sure that the cops didn't find his drugs before the "incident, Breonna Taylor's boyfriend fired first (although I don't support no knock raids, there's a reason for them), and Jakob Blake was a rapist, with a record of violence, was violating a restraining order, and went reaching for a weapon. Should they have died? Of course not, but there are countless situations where cops are put at risk at have to put their life before that of a suspect.

There was a LITTERAL LYNCHING of a Trump supporter in the streets, and Trump was sent poison. The left has been rioting in the streets for 4 MONTHS, and none of the BLM leaders have condemned them. There has definetly been peaceful protesting, but that doesn't mean that the riots can continue. I (and most other conservatives) will go link arms with the peaceful protesters, when (1), the riots end, and (2) the BLM leaders condemn the violence. Well, maybe not EVERYONE, because in the BLM charter, they say they want to "disrupt the western prescribed nuclear family".

The second amendment is not just there to defend yourself or hunt, it's to stop tyrants from taking over. When people on the right see people in california legislating laws that make easier for same-sex rape with minors, or that people (on the left) have been trying to restart SEGREGATION, they are meant to use their second amendment to make sure someone like Hitler won't get in charge.

About the education, I'm Canadian, so I can't comment too much on that, and I don't know anything about the investigation with the education minister.

Trump put in legisation banning landlords from evicting their tennants for the near future, the government can't pay ALL your bills. The stimulus check is just that, a stimulus. A boost. The best way to fix the economy is by getting people their jobs back, not dependence on the government. The 2017 tax cut helped the middle class the most. I know someone (a business owner) that hired 2 new people directly because of the tax cuts. The best way to make Americans richer, is by taking away LESS money. He did tax cuts for the rich, so then they'd be able to hire more, so then they'd be more inclined to move their businesses back to America, and let them be able to pay their employees more. What's my problem with Canadian Healthcare? The ridiculous waiting times (up to 9 hrs), the lack of specialised medicin and just how frustrating trying to GET help. Most clinics in Canada take a day off, and it takes YEARS to get a family doctor. It's a broken system, and most people just go get privatised care anyways.

Once again though, this is not what most Canadians think, because we aren't taught that in schools. Instead, we get taught that Canada is the greatest and safest country in the world, and that America is a cesspool of crime, murder, rape and racism with "A Facist Cheeto" in charge.
