I don't condone Bette's comments but what ever happened to that press conference Trump said he'd do to clear up questions about Melania's immigration....?? Interesting that the law and order "birtherism" president would change his mind on that.

So much hype, so little actual information... well, I guess that's imgflip, where opinions are like a$$holes.

As with anything involving a legal process (and particularly immigration, which I know about a little bit) it's not always as simple as the average person might want it to be.

Also, calling it an Einstein visa is incredibly misleading.

Some quick research on the interwebs revealed an interesting article that provides some insight into how a person who is not so outstanding in their field, whatever it may be, may qualify for the visa, which is actually an EB-1 visa.

I don't think I cleared it up! But at a minimum, my intent was to express my opinion that people shouldn't be reacting to her visa based on the fact that it's called an "Einstein visa".

Plus to possibly show that the immigration process is difficult, as I think it should be. We want to make it somewhat difficult, but certainly not impossible (bc impossible only encourages illegal immigration, imo) so that people who come here have had to prove to some degree, that they really want to be here, and want to be here by following the legal process to do so.

I know.. I mostly found the circumstances ironic.

Illegal immigrants seem to me to be the people who would want it the most. Many probably failed at legal entry multiple times.. but instead of quitting or simply repeating the process however many times, they're willing to actually break the law, risk their lives crossing the desert, if female risk getting raped by coyotes, risk getting captured and locked up by border patrol (where I hear some amount of rapes and/or abuse also can happen), possibly with essentially no idea where they're going... knowing that IF they even manage to succeed in illegally entering, they're going to be living the rest of their entire life looking over their back. I would tend to think that these are the people who want to be here the most. To be clear this is not to say I think we should have open borders.
