He took the tazer and fired it. I was A military officer. Anyone that did that to one of my troops and endangered his life and my other troops would have to be taken out by lethal force if necessary. He was drunk in a car he was driving. Cops Rightfully gave him a field sobriety test. Hell I got a Field Sobriety test once. I was speeding. They ask If I drank . I said yes which was the truth. Told them I have not drank for hours. I respected the cops. I passed the test. Cops said since Cooperative and told the truth no speeding ticket. Have A nice day. He would be alive if he just cooperated. He blew over the limit. Nice try though. Cooperation and respect should be taught. No I would not let a Drunk driver off!! Passing out in a running vehicle at a drive-thru. He was driving drunk, which is still a crime regardless of the color of your skin. He failed the field sobriety test and in accordance with procedure the cops tried to take him into custody for committing said crime. He could have gone peacefully but resisted and took a taser from a cop and fired it at them. He could have disabled the cop and then gone back and killed him so lethal force was justified. Stop making excuses for bad behavior.

Shouldve the cops shot him?

I’ve thought about that a lot with everything that’s been happening. This is a different situation than with Floyd. He was murdered, but I’m not so sure about this guy. I’m not a police officer so what I’m about to say is just opinion, but I’ll say “I need more information.” The reason why I say that is because he did take the taser. On first thought I think if it was me and somebody took my taser and tried to shoot me with it I would be in fear of my life. They could incapacitate me and then kill me.

But some tasers are single shot and some are multiple shot. If theirs was single shot and he discharged it the threat was over and lethal force wouldn’t be justified. But what if he had more than one shot? What if he hit the cop with the second one?

There are some variables and of course we don’t have all the information. What I do know is that lethal force is always a last resort.

Would I have shot? Probably, and that makes me thankful that I’m not in that situation.

That’s true, but why not just go peacefully? I saw the cops in the video and they were being very professional until he resisted. He chose to break the law so why not just go without causing trouble?

I just watched it again. He had the taser in his hand while he was running away and pointed it at the cop.

At 23:22:47 on the security camera he was beside a red car and pointed the taser at the cop.
