Oh that's sad. I play piano, have been for ten years. My teacher recently passed away, but im not giving up. Im even gonna teach piano. Dont ever give up anything just cuz its too hard, you may learn to love it later on. I used to hate piano but now im really glad I never gave it up

Born in 2004, so I'm just going to answer with the music I currently listen to, because it's what I'm growing up with.
I spent almost my whole childhood listening to the music on the top 40 radio station, then when said radio station in 2018 and after started getting a bit boring for me, I rediscovered a lot of pop songs from the late 90s to around 2014 that I listen to primarily now.
Also, movie soundtracks, and a little kpop (i really only listen to Blackpink when it comes to kpop, but I listen to them a LOT). More recent (again, 90s to early 2010s) alternative music is also really good, although I don't listen to it as much even though it's awesome.
Every now and then I do throw a more rock-y song on the playlist. This has interesting results when played right before or after Katy Perry. I only actually know like 3 or 4 non-disney songs from before the 90s, though, so it's still in my usual release year range.
