I think this is a tricky thing. Ultimately, yes, it's on the Trump administration.

However, all we hear as a drumbeat from the media is that Trump is no doctor, Trump is no expert, Trump is no scientist. I think we can all agree on that. So from a practical standpoint, he's forced to rely on people who are those things, which means Dr. Fauci (and others, of course.)

Let's not mistake Dr. Fauci for anything other than what he is, which is a cagey political animal. Sure, he's got his science and medical cred, too, but how long has he been in his current position? Thru how many administrations? The guy knows how to play the game, and come out clean when it's over. He's like a cockroach, he'll outlive us all.
